This crap isn't televised in either market??? Why does this seem to happen once a year (usually involving these two teams)? WTF????

Because usually, the home market wants to fill the arena and not televising the game does that. Not sure why the other market decides not to televise it as well.

Also, the defense pairings look...legit?

Gleason-Allen
Harrison-Faulk
Pitkanen-McBain

I'm not sure I actually buy that this is the case.

If the 'Canes were fishing in Ontario, and the boat capsized would they be considered to be diving while under water?

I don't think any of the home games vs. Florida this year have been televised by FSC. Anyone know if there is going to be a jumbo-tron feed on Center Ice for the game?

It's showing up on my Directv guide this morning so I assume we will be getting a jumbotron feed.

It's a Wednesday night game against a team that, at the beginning of the year, wasn't looking like any sort of contender. I'd say that's likely the case.

This is a "who cares" game for 99.9% of the hockey watching world.

I'm saying that I don't buy the argument that a game not being on television has a significant positive impact on attendance. That's the kind of logic that Bill Wirtz nearly destroyed the Chicago Blackhawks with. It would seem if that is the case that the Hurricanes would have an incentive to actually reduce the number of games in their television contract. Or really, why televise any home games? If you are forced to not have television coverage for some games, as Carolina is because they could only get a 65 game contract with Fox, then sure, it makes perfect sense to choose weekday home games as the ones you don't air. For me, the league needs to step in with some sort of regulation ensuring that one of the two teams involved in a game airs it.

I don't know about anyone else, but if a game's not televised, I'm more likely to get tickets to that game than one that is televised. Since the only way to see that game is to go watch it in person (this is ignoring illegal streams and the like).

Now take into account that it's one of two games at home in the middle of 10 games on the road. So if fans want to see the team play at home for most of the month, it had to be this one or the St. Louis one. I didn't get tickets to the St. Louis one because I knew it would be on TV. I may get tickets to tonight's game simply because it's not and watching a jumbotron feed is vastly inferior to watching it live.

I read on another board that tonight is an NBC exclusive, hence no TV. The Habs/Sabres game is being televised on RDS, which doesn't affect NBCs exclusive rights.

They need to tell NBC to shove it with their exclusive games. But anyway, if you get Center Ice, you should be able to catch the jumbotron feed as I saw a tweet yesterday that the Canes were working with the NHL to get that feed on Center Ice. They said it'll be blacked out in the Carolina/Florida viewing area, but I've gotten these so called black out games.

I'm actually going to the game tonight. It's one of the downsides to being a Clemson student--This is only my second game this year, compared to usually about 15=20 or so by now.

JFW, please.

I'm still getting used to your new username :-P

Look at the bright side though - starting next year you not only get to go to more games but the Wolfline goes to the RBC Center!

If you end up living off campus, PublicEnemy, check out Trinity Commons. It's within walking distance of PNC Arena and Carter-Finley. It's also about .8 miles from the Carter-Finley park and ride lot. Saves you money on a parking pass and also a lot of money on gas.

Where?

I won't even know if I'm going to State next year until mid-May by the estimation of the women in the admissions office.

The ghost of Stu Barnes haunts us all.

Panthers are on a 5 game win streak. We lose 3-2.

EDIT: The LOLCats don't have a GDT up yet, meaning that their fanbase possesses zero confidence. We win 5-1. With two minutes to go, Chad nets 3 empty netters.

Cool, you'll be there tonight too? Enjoy the game. I'd buy you a soda pop but I'm ashamed of the fact that 98% of my body is covered with Corvo-esque tattoos.

Slight edit...

See http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...d.php?t=817479 for the real team names (that is, if you haven't seen that thread before)

It's been a long time since I've thought about that thread, way back in the lurker days, so thanks for reminding me.

My wife and I just spent a week in Florida bleaching out my tattoos in the sun, er, I mean vacationing, and the entire time I was there I kept hoping to run over a panther, or at least see one. Instead it was just alligators being eaten by vultures, which was crazy.

Good seats. Sitting down low is a rare treat that the wife and I allow ourselves when we're tired of craning our necks from upstairs. The Canes are also practicing at Center Ice on Thursday, or are scheduled to anyway, if you're still in town.
