Bet the Oilers won't hesitate if they get the chance.

From what I have heard it is possible, but not likely, Rielly could return if Moose Jaw goes deep.

So, read through most of the easily accessible Rielly stuff...but what is his defensive game like? Not something most people talk about, which makes sense given his offensive talents. Weak spot, not an issue at the CHL level...? Cheers.

He said in a radio interview a few weeks ago that he was getting close to returning. I guess we will see.

I asked him on Twitter last week and he told me that if they go on a bit of a run, he will be back in the lineup.
I would assume that he will miss the first round, likely a bit more.

Credit to the guys at the Pipeline Show for breaking some huge news. Rielly is set to return for round one against Regina, which starts tonight.
With that being said, there's no guarantees he plays in the first few games.

Rielly isn't medically cleared yet from what I understand, but it is definitely possible for a return.
Interesting to note this isn't the first time he's quickly come back after surgery!

Crazy. Good news. I wonder if guys like McIlrath and Edmundson will be able to shelter Rielly in his return...
And yes I thought he was around 6 feet when I saw him early in the season...

He's listed as 6'0 and I've stood beside him several times. It's an accurate measurement. I think it was just a type by Mr. Vickers.
And yeah, I would imagine they will shelter Rielly when he comes back. Likely play him on the PP and limited ES minutes and no PK to start.

Yep. Typo. I've stood beside him as well this year. We've got him listed at 6'0 on our rankings page (
http://futureconsiderations.ca/top-rankings/ ). Not sure where I was when I put 6'2.

5. Morgan Rielly, D, Moose Jaw Warriors, WHL
2011-12: 18 games, 3 goals, 15 assists, 18 points, plus-6 (ACL surgery)
Comparison: Duncan Keith
Best asset: "Skating and passing."
Where do you need improvement: "Physical play."
NHL Central Scouting: "I've seen Rielly do things on the ice that nobody else was doing," MacDonald said. "I saw him make those little passes to guys who weren't expecting the puck to get there. He's the type of player who can lead the rush and he'll be the first guy back. I think his creativity makes him one of the top players in the league.
"He's like a chess player; he's thinking one or two moves ahead. He sees stuff coming that a lot of players don't see."

Sad to hear that he still hasn't suited up yet in the playoffs, especially considering that it was reported he was set to return in round 1.

Exciting. An already solid team gets even better.
That series is gonna be tough.
