Radulov 2008: "Nashville? NHL? Never heard of. I'm under contract with Ufa and that's it."

Radulov 2012: "Ufa? KHL? Never heard of. I'm under contract with Nashville and that's it."

That, Theo, is what you call a Class Act.

Let's see which he runs out of first - knives, or backs to stick 'em in.

Can he finish his entry level contrat this year(2011-2012)
Go back to khl next year(2012-2013)
Come back to nhl has a UFA (2013-2014)

What's the benefit to Nashville? At least in the original scenario, they have an RFA player who can be traded from something less...transitory?

Per Daly on that Fan590 report, he said he believed that the issues/delays surrounding the KHL contract were in buying out the remaining year. Ufa retains his rights and he's a restricted FA there, but he is not under contract any longer.

None of this means that he couldn't go back to the KHL next year either.

No. As has been stated many times in this thread, Radulov (DOB 7/5/86) is not UFA eligible until 2014 (*). He still has 2 more RFA years after this season.

(*) Assuming the UFA age is not lowered in the next CBA.

edit: Ok, not many times - just once. I forgot which Radulov thread I was in.

Didn't the KHL club say just a couple of days ago that Radulov would have to pay a big sum of money if he doesn't return next season? That sure sounds like a contract.

Or is Daly actually saying "there is no NHL-recognized contract"?
