I would definitely give him the tryout. He'd have a lot to show at camp to make the team though.

3 seasons out of 4 of 65 points or more, more then any of our "great" 1st liners will have this season including pacioretty, cole and desharnais. A playoff performer on top of that plus one of the best powerplay players. Yeah, we never saw him play.

It's not like we have wingers for the second line anyway.

I was a huge fan of his here, a sublime talent and made players around him better; plus a guy who had the balls to say what he thought about things.

No thanks.

It's just a tryout why not. If he performed well at camp....3rd/4th line, huge PP minutes, shootout. If he sucks like many people suspect...send him packing.

The why not is the absolute circus he would bring with him

Play him on the powerplay only, and with a long hair no helmet clause.

Then maybe.

I mean, at his age... he might only be able to play one in every four or five games.

Can we pass on retreads while in the midst of a youth movement?

HELL NO!!! At this point, it wouldn't be any worse bringing back Guy Lafleur. Stop living in the past people.

Now it's too late. Maybe before this season. He went back to Russia and he's not doing well. Yes bigger ice surface. He's old, etc. The point is that he is probably better than the Bork and Geoffrion but I'd rather give that ice time to the youngsters.

I'm all for it, guarantee him a top 6 role all season and go for the McKinnon Tank

do we have to have a stupid "Bring Kovalev back to the Habs?" thread every time his name is mentioned in a news article?

Grigorenko could develop a reputation as a floater type a la Yashin.

The last thing you want him to see is the fans adoring a player like Kovalev who is the king of floating. All skill and no heart.

If anything we should bring back Koivu to be around Grig.

No need to worry. We'll win the lottery and draft Trouba. Timmins love american d-men.

Back on topic, I wouldn't mind Kovy back with a very cheap 1 year contract. He was loved by the fan and loved the city. Could help on the powerplay too. Seems he played really bad in the KHL though judging by his stats... Still think he would be good for 15 goals and 30 points, which is okay for a 1 000 000 cap hit imo.

I voted yes, but only if Gomez signs him - not the Habs.
