I hate to say it, but Daniel sitting this one out would be a welcome advantage for us.
I understand that feeling, but it's just bad for the game if Sedin (and players of his caliber) are on the shelf. I'd rather face him tomorrow night if the alternative was he missed some or all of the rest of the season/playoffs. Luckily that's not the only alternative though.
Hopefully he's back very soon if he can't go tomorrow.
1) Doan is a repeat offender ... his 3rd offense in 17 months. I don't believe Duncan Keith has a history.
2) I still don't believe Doan had any intention of hurting Jamie Benn. Slowed down it was ugly, but at full speed you can see the key to that still dirty play was him almost instinctively shooting the chicken wing out towards a guy going by him. With Duncan, man it really seems like he consciously said I'm going to eliminate this guy with an elbow. He was coming in straight at him and lining him up. The accusations of revenge are not a positive either.
3) This is the rare star on star brutality. So that means punishment for hurting a star player and the leniency for being a star player are going to be a wash.
I can see many fans screaming for more than 5 games, but I'll go with 3 to 5 max. I just hope Daniel is back soon.

I doubt Daniel will play tonight. The Canucks usually sit players who have taken serious head shots for a week at minimum if they have any signs of concussion. It is a set protocol.
Had to come over here to find a game day thread. The Canucks board is slow to put one up. I think it is because they are still talking about the Keith elbow. I think Dallas gets an automatic two points tonight. The Canucks are in their worse slump of the season. They have little motivation lately since they have the second spot practically locked up. Daniel will be out, and after lasts nights emotional game and a flight from Chicago to Dallas, I don`t see the Canucks having enough left to play a top game. Enjoy the game.
Just a heads up, Daniel will not play tonight and likely won't play Saturday. He's been returned to Vancouver for further evaluation. Props to you guys for the classy remarks about his health, you're a good group.
Any word on your starting lineup tonight? Ours should look something like this:

Any word on your starting lineup tonight? Ours should look something like this:
I think it was Heika that mentioned via Twitter Gulutzen is considering playing Jordie Benn, but Pardy was partnered with Daley at the morning skate. Gully is not considering 7 D.
This is probably the best we'll have them. They're all but locked into second place. They're on the second half of a back-to-back. They do not have Daniel Sedin and they're playing some of their worst hockey this season.
We lose tonight it's not the end of the world but it's tightening the noose around our necks if we do. Lets just say it's another must win game.
Came to say good luck and saw couple posts at the top regarding sedin. Such classy fans. I wish vancouver had more fans like you guys.
Hopefully its a great game. Quick history trip here, 2 years ago daniel broke his ankle in dallas which started henriks hart winning season without his brother. Hopefully he does the same tonight
By the way, Ryder is four goals from tying Russ Courtnall for most goals in their first season with the club. He's tied with Hull at 32 right now for most goals in the first season with the club since the move to Texas.
Danny Grant in 1968 (34 goals), Brian Bellows in 1982 (35 goals), Wayne Connelly in 1967 (35 goals), and Russ Courtnall (36 goals) are the only ones above him.
