With the pressure of this playoff run I don't think they are loose. I doubt that will be a positive with respect to whether they win or lose this game though maybe the sense of urgency is what they need.

I'd say they should be shooting for 16 points....

orlov now on the steady scratch list. interesting. hunter likes schultz now. Hamrlik is back in and now no ice for Orlov. this should create some interesting chatter

Maybe he is just resting him thinking we are going to sneak into the playoffs?

Orlov had played crap as of late. While sarge and hammer have been decent.

Experience in the playoffs is vital, you can make that same statement for games leading up to it. This shouldn't come as much of a surprise to anyone give my prior statement and his play of late.

Kid is gonna be a stud, I have no concerns about that .... I should hope this doesn't do much to his confidence but I think it's the right play to sit him .... for now.

Worried about next 2 days... Is there a team in the entire league with a worse center depth than us?

Carlson and Schultz were out for all three Detroit goals last game.

I know. Carlson should of been benched along time ago. But orlov has been beat multiple times for goals. Looks a lot worse

The problem is that Hunter probably won't talk to the kid about it.

I think this all comes down to sides and styles.

Green, Carlson, Wideman, and Orlov are all puck movers who are better by a decent amount on the right.

Alzner, Hamrlik, and Schultz are all stay at homers who are better by a decent amount on the left.

For all 4 puck movers to get jerseys one pair has to be 2 puck movers and one of those guys has to play on the other side from his preference.

It is what it is and Orlov gets the short straw I guess based on his tough game against the 'Hawks.

Gonna miss the first half of the game but here is to hoping that the Caps come out of this passive trap junk and attack right off the bat.

I'm fine with sitting on the lead in the 3rd (actually I'm not..but at least there is basis for it that I can understand)

Didn't I read somewhere that Bowman didn't talk to his players? Look at the results he got.

Scotty Bowman also said: "Statistics are for losers."

“He’s about what’s going on, what’s current, what’s better, what’s not, how to treat people right,” said Babcock, who had Hitchcock on his staff when Team Canada won gold at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. “Hitch is a guy who loves his players. … All the players that played for [Scotty Bowman] said he never talked to them, [but] he loved them. He talked to them lots when he was done coaching, I can tell you that. So sometimes when you’re pushing, their perception and reality sometimes is different.”

As per Brett Hull. But there were many accounts that support this. I posted an incident with Bowman and Dino Ciccarelli not too long ago.

I get tough love v. being a player coach, and I get that personal style can vary hugely from coach to coach, but the silent treatment is dumb. I don't care who used it in the past.

I just hope JJ is at least talking to these guys.

Your certainly entitled to your opinion here but its not only Scotty Bowman that has experienced success with these methods. There are others who have.

There are also coaches who won by being very upfront with players too.

Just b/c you think its dumb does not mean its not effective.
