Smyth > Nuge; Oil lose 3-2 in SO

Why build confidence for your all-star rookie? That would be silly. Only two points back of Montreal.

(2) TBL: Pyatt - Hedman, Connolly
(2) EDM: Omark - Whitney, Smyth
(2) TBL: Pyatt - Wyman, Wallace
(3) EDM: Smid - Nugent-Hopkins, Gagner

SO Goals
Edmonton: Gagner, Hemsky (2)
Tampa Bay: Stamkos, St. Louis, Purcell (3)

Three Stars: 1. Roloson 2. Pyatt 3. Potter

I don't know why Omark gets a shoot out attempt anymore. He's more interested in dicking around than actually scoring a goal.

Renney is soo lame duck. Smyth and Hartikainen over Nuge is one of the most ridiculous decisions that i've ever seen and Renney has had some ridiculous ones this year, get him outta here please.

Actually, i don't mind the loss too much, i'm getting a little nervous about finishing out of the lottery altogether with the Leafs, Isles and Wild in full tank mode and with the Habs not too far ahead.
The team dominated and only got a point, i'll take it.

Oh and Smid is amazing. If he can add that little bit of offense to his game like he did tonight (he's certainly capable), he could be a legit top pairing guy on a good team.

When Renney put Omark over Hemsky, I knew we would lose.

Youtube highlights>>>>>our best player the last 2 games apparently

We played a really good game. Rolly just owned us, and it's that simpled. Honestly, I'm proud of our effort.

Better this way. We are getting too close to Minny anyways.

I really want to like Renney, but has he lost his mind? I'd love to hear his reasoning behind this one.

The day the Oilers announce Tom Renney won't be back will be a great day.

I'm starting to feel that it's actually going to be a surprise if the Oilers end up with a top 5 pick the way things are going right now.

I agree, the boneheaded decisions he makes on a game to game basis is inexcusable. Cant blame Tambellini for supplying the wrong players to win the game tonight.

Hemsky was amazing tonight. Gagner and Harski complement him well right now.

I thought he had a strong game but I don't know about that.

Good effort, we deserved to win that one. Omark can't finish when it matters, Renney puts out Omark over Hemmer, than Harti and Smyth over Nuge. I mean WTF?

Ya with Hemmer in beast mode, Duby playing well and Hall coming back, there are quite a few teams we are going to catch imo.

Does anyone want to see Harti play with the kids and give them the space and grit they need? I wouldn't mind trying Ben Eager than Jones with the kids even

Minny just tied it up against the Shames. Helps out the Oilers in the Grigorenko race, and hopefully they can beat the Flames in regulation to dim the Shames playoff hopes a bit more.

I love Hemsky and Hartkianen together. I feel Hart is what's given Hemsky so much life recently, keep them together.

But yes I agree, get Eager out there with the kids.

Man, you Omark haters are relentless. He had a good game and that shootout attempt wasn't a poor one.

Forget RNH, Horcoff should have been shooting.

Poor breakaway attempt, and slapshots rarely work in shootout. With a slaphot, you pretty much don't know where your shot is going. A shootout gives a player time and space, use it against a goalie.

Plus, Hemsky should have gotten the third attempt.
