Best game Omark has played in the NHL, by a kilometre. Good for him.

Really guys...

we are worrying about the shootout??
We really need that extra point?

We played a pretty decent game.

You could go into every game thread on hfboards.. and when it goes to a shootout every teams fanbase goes nuts about shooter selection.

Sore back from carrying this team all year.

Renneys done IMO, not even with this whole Smyth over Nuge bs, but Corey freaking Potter playing on a 4 on 3, seriously Tom?

Any idea as to why the Oilers take Taylor Hall along on this trip if he will not be used and is obviously not ready to play?

She may well have busted something but I don't think it is called a move.

He hasnt even practiced or skated with the club in the last few days. I heard his parents are in Florida maybe they are getting the Disney world trip Hall always wanted.

Jones is sucking the life out of Eberle and Nugent-Hopkins. They need a new winger, pronto.

I'm starting to feel bad for Khabbi. He hasn't played particularly bad on a lot of nights since his hot start but the damn team never wins for him.

I missed most of the third period and OT shovelling. Damn bi-polar province.

Team deserved to win, but Rollie played like he was 8 years younger.

- Hemsky was insane, but I wish he would either shoot the puck or dangle to a place where he could at least pass it off. he kept going very high in the zone, and with no one to pass, he lost the puck a few times. At the very least, find the lane, slid the puck towards the goal and let the Oiler player in front battle for it.
- Smid was awesome.
- I really liking the Schultz trade more and more. Smid and Schultz in overtime on the PK. Horcoff haters should note Horcs was out for nearly all of the 2 minutes as well.
- Yet another cheezy call by the ref. Pretty lame, almost as if he got a phone call from head office to remind him to screw the oilers because he had forgotten.
- Khabby lost the shootout, not the players. You could have almost driven a truck through the 5 hole he left open. Ebs attempt was pretty weak.
- Harti looks like a great fit with Hemmer. I still think Gags is wrong for that line.
- The kids were average at best. Jones was the one that seemed missing more than anything else
- The third line was excellent all game. I know there are a lot of Omark haters out there, but he did have a pretty decent game. I think he lost possession of the puck a bit right at the end when he was on his breakaway (just like Hemsky BTW, which no one is noting). The shootout, he tried something new, rollie had a fast glove that time.

Should have won this one, rollie was the difference. Great game, end to end action.

I'm actually fairly satisfied. They should, should get to 30 wins and 70 points (3 more) and I didn't think that they had it in them.

Hey but hemsky was invisible until he puts points up.

Just saying, we have different logic with the way we treat hemsky compared to ebs.

I agree with you, btw, it's just people go after hemsky when he creates chances.

By the way, Hemsky was the best player on either team - he was flying, and deeking people for fun. It would have been nice if he finished the one play where he turned a guy inside out for a shot at roloson.

K I know Hemsky doesn't always shoot, but today he had 5 shots on net, second only to omark (6, go figure). I'm just saying....

I would like to see harski with those 2 guys because when Hall gets back hes with Hemsky. They may as well give it a go now.

Omark's best game. Prolly got the SO attempt as a reward.

Smyth gets the SO because he practiced against Roli how many times?

Hartski I dunno.

And as predicted, Roli had a throwback game.

I'm happy with the comeback in the 3rd.

Just finished watching the game on PVR. Oilers played very well, alot of positives and only a few negatives

Hemmer was unreal, Harti drove the net and controlled alot along the boards.

Nuge plays a very suttle game. Some unreal plays followed by many shifts were he gets trapped in his zone all shift.

Ebbs played well, again some top notch plays, with alot of shifts were nothing happens.

Omark was very good also. If only he could figure out how to be consistent. Stupid give aways followed by some unreal moves followed by some uninspired back checking. Finally gets a shift in OT and almost takes a penalty

Gagner, I just can't figured this guy out. He has alot of talent but has not been able to take that next step. Some games he seems that he will not pass and tries to beat everyone while others he dishes regularly. Reminds me a little of Hall in that regard. Once Hall figures out how to use his center and wingers effectively he will be even more of a beast than he is now.

Defense was good

Goalie was good

All in all we should have won.

From reports Omark had another astounding game that I'll be hearing about for the next year if this is indeed last of Omark season. I better fire up the PVR and watch this for posterity.

How many drinks will this one require?

Oh, I did watch the shootout already thus my earlier comments on shootout.

Lolled at the bolded. Yeah. An NHL player doesn't know where his slapshot is going. I imagine Omark was under clear orders from Renney to not get fancy so he just came in and took a clapper. I imagine he thought it'd go something like this (go to 1:24)

Anyway, I thought the Smyth-Horc-Omark line was our best line tonight. I'd been hoping to get a good look at that combination since training camp. RNH and Ebs were owned all night till that sweet play to Smid. That's great players for you -- even when they're invisible and shut down, all they need is a second of space and they'll make you pay.

And, man, I am loving Smid and Petry right now. It's kind of embarrassing, the man crush.
