Since there is not a great chance the Flames make the playoffs tank it down the stretch and pick up that 10th overall. And maybe if we make some rebuild trades we end up with some more prospects and picks

tanking is never a good idea. pride is an important thing to instill in your players

Well I have tried to remain optimistic about this season, but these last three games have finally taken the last hope out of me. Sure "mathematically" and "statistically" we still have a chance, but after watching the lacklustre work ethic and below average play against subpar teams I find it extremely difficult to believe this team deserves a playoff spot let alone can earn one.

As crap as the last four games have been, if the Flames win on Saturday in regulation, they'll be (temporarily) back in 8th spot.

It may be a fool's hope, but they still control their own destiny.

Oh it is definitly not over by any stretch. We are still gaining points slowly, we just need a good run starting now.

We can pass Colorado and Dallas with very little help as we play them 3 times.

SJ/LA/Phx - we need help. I see LA as the favorite for the division title but we do play them once.

It is very interesting in that there are alot of games the other 5 teams play against each other. If the Flames win on those nights then they know they will gain at least one point on one or two teams.

oh we also have to stop playing like crap, yeah..........

Actually they won't be, as Dallas will have played less games.

But when you look at games above .500, even if Calagry wins Saturday afternoon, they would be tied for 10th with Colorado.

There is no reason to delude yourself into thinking Calgary is on the cusp of a playoff spot that can be regained with one win.

The true 8th place team is 11 games above .500, Calgary is 8 games above. In 9th and 10th place are teams which are 10 and 9 games abover .500. Calgary needs to jump over all of them.

Yes, there is. I actually enjoy cheering for the team. Being tied for 8th (whatever, 9th) after dropping four straight is fine with me.

If you want to sit and stew under your own pesimistic cloud of despair with Eeyore, then fine by me, but don't **** on my parade.

I find it seriously unlikely that Phoenix is going to be going 3-3. But hey, I won't stop you.

No one is doing Calgary any favours. I also think asking for a 5-0-1 record is asking too much.

As far as im concerned this team is done barring a miracle. I am now in Draft mode lol.

I like:

1. Reinhart
2. Faksa
3. Gaunce

as our picks.

Yep those are my 3 as well and I would love to get a late first round pick or early second round pick and get Frk.

I was talking about Frk the other day, looks like this years Ty Rattie in terms up of upside.

I agree with those, I'll add Ceci to them as well. If were drafting 9th or 10th you never know we might see someone drop considerably. We have the last few drafts.

I don't know much about Ceci, he has been one of those guys who has quietly made his way into the Top 10, I wouldn't mind Trouba if he somehow falls to us either.

Then there is always the chance that Galchenyuk falls. Seems like a consensus Top 10 though.

The only players we could trade to get that type of pick is Iggy, Kipper, J-Bo or Gio.

And none of them can be traded without consent prior to the draft.

Just because there's nothing else better to do, we might as well see how well this "projection" goes. If BodyChecker is fairly accurate (we'll say ~24/29), we all treat him to a beer.
