I might be alone on this...but I was quite surprised to see Daniel out for one more shift. A hit to the head like that, where the player is down on his knees and then guided from the ice...I mean wasn't it obvious that he should have been taken to the quiet room?
Fortunately Daniel had an uneventful shift before sanity was restored. But I'm hoping that Gillis reviews this action with the training staff. It does not matter whether the player says he's okay. Take him to the quiet room...and immediately review the video of the hit to further the assessment.
I was surprised too - he looked visibly shaken from the TV angle (front).
Problem is a) he says he's ok and b) trainer is behind him rather than in front - hard to get a proper sense from there, imo.
When do people think we will know the diagnosis on Daniel. I'm not sold on it being a concussion but it does seem likely. I'm hoping its a fractured jaw or something.
It seemed like a jaw issue to me. It seemed to be causing him discomfort on the bench and they mentioned on TSN that he got x-rays done in the first intermission. Doesn't seem like something you do for a concussion.

They were probably just looking for anything broken first.
Apparently Daniel is seeing the best chiropractor in town tomorrow, probably to get his neck checked. If Crosby's case has taught us anything it's that concussions and neck injuries go hand in hand.

Daniel Sedin will be in great hands tomorrow when he visits one of the top Chiro clinics who've treated numerous NHL players&concussions.
Just a terrible situation. Cheap shot, and needless...and now another top 5 NHL'er is out...who knows for how long....and I can only hope that he comes back soon, and stays healthy.... Having seen so many as a Bruins fan, I can only say when he does come back you will be on edge, hoping he doesn't take another hit, hoping he makes it through....really sucks, feel for you guys...

Thing is about the Twins, you think they may never get up from a hit, but they always seen too. I'm just more worried about if Daniel's play will be affected by this, rather then him getting hit again.
No player deserves a concussion, especially what happened to Danny and what Bruins fans experienced with Savard.

Sad thing is, it's quite possible he won't be the same player... Bergeron, while great defensively isn't exactly where he was offensively...but he is very lucky. Savard when he came back sadly was nowhere the player he was...look up his stats....Horton this year wasn't the same player... still scored some, but nowhere near the physical presence he was...and look at the hit that put him out again...wasn't much...
It's a fear you will always have from this point on...hopefully he has one, recovers 100%, and it never comes up again...

No kidding. We all know Bruins fans are loving this situation.
WhamBamCam8 was one of the most vocal and level-headed (ie. unbiased) voices on Marchand's submarine of Salo in our tilt w the Bruins earlier this season. A voice of reason on that board.
Henrik said that Daniel was having some headaches before he left.
How does Henrik know, was he all of a sudden getting headaches too?
But seriously, not good news, but you never know, it could be nothing. I've been hit to the head in hockey, had headaches for a day or two, and was fine the next day. Stay positive, folks, we need the hockey gods to have Danny healthy!
I just don't understand how hypocritical and dumb some of them are. They'll say one thing, and then 5 posts later, have it not apply to their own team. I'm sure there's posters like that everywhere, and if we took a step back, here too, but it's on a whole other level over there.
Just wow.

Posters are like that here. They'll call out Boston for their playing style, and then go out and call for Keiths head on a silver platter.
