Johnny Gaudreau had a great PP goal in the Hockey East semifinal game.

Have you guys seen him play much? When he was drafted there were several reports that said he could be the most skilled American in the draft his only fault was his size. Have you guys seen the skill that the scouts were talking about because on paper he is having an amazing year.
Also is he on the first line with Chris Kreider or second line?

see ihm play quite a bit. that is not an unrealistic claim that he was the most skilled. kid is unreal. just had another assist in the game tonight. 3-1 BC gaudreau has 2-1.
i was kid of surprised he did not make the usa wjc team this year as i see him as more talented that austin czarnik. gaudreau will be top 6 forward with USA no problem in 2013
I'm not a huge WHL fan, but I was looking over some of the stats this year and judging on stats alone we might be underrating one of our prospects.
Laurent Brossoit looks to have very solid numbers in the dub this year. He finished 2nd in the WHL with a 2.47GAA, 6th with a .914SV%, tied for 1st in wins (but he had 2 fewer games) and tied for 6th in shutouts.
I know the Oil Kings are a pretty strong team, is he along for the ride? or is he one of the key cogs?
How badly do you fans want Markus Granlund to sign with the Flames? Personally, I would much rather see him in Minnesota with his older brother. There aren't enough siblings/twins(Sedins) playing together in the NHL.
I think it would be amazing to continue to watch the brothers play together. I am a HIFK fan and have seen them play together throughout the season. It's wonderful how they always seem to know where to find each other with their passes.
Just bringing this out there, because I genuinely think there is a chance that the Wild and the Flames can reach some sort of agreement.

Sorry for "shouting" in your thread...
Of course, we'll absolutely trade for Mikeal Granlund.

I'd entertain proposals for Markus, he seems like a decent prospect, but if they want him bad enough we might get a bit of an overpayment. Maybe we could even pry Zach Phillips away from them if we add a little
Since there are not a lot of Markus Granlund highlight videos posted here I thought you might be interested in seeing this vid (not made by me). It's got pretty much all the highlights of the Granlund bros from this FEL season. Lots of Mikael there obviously, especially in the beginning of the vid since Markus had a bit of a slow start but I think it should give you a good view of his play this year and you can judge for yourself whether he's just benefitting from playing with Mikael. Markus is number 11.
I think he really exceeded a lot of people's expectations this year, myself included, and got better and better as the year went on. He's still got a lot of work to do, but looks more promising than a year ago. As has been said, next year should give a better picture on how he'll do without his brother.

to add to this, Brossoit put up a shutout in the 1st game of the playoffs

I saw him play a couple times and I was not very impressed by him (but it is very hard to be impressive as a goalie in junior). He had a mediocre glove hand and had poor rebound control it looked like he really needed help from his defenseman (another reason Reinhart impressed me so much) his best attribute was his positioning. But I did see him early in the year so maybe it was just rust, I hope it was at least.
Wow, after watching that video, Wild fans have something special to look forward to. Mikael is a dominant player who probably was solely responsible for about 1/3 of the goals by his play.
I wasn't overly impressed with Markus, seems like he has a pretty decent wrist shot but that's about it. Although, I did like the lacrosse goal that he scored, that was a beauty.

You have to remember that Markus is only an 18 year old playing his first season in a professional men's league in Finland. Mikeal is a year older, and is playing in his third professional season. If you compare him to his older brother you will undoubtedly be disappointed, but what Markus has managed to do as an 18 year old in the SM-Liiga is very impressive.
The only U19 player in Finland with more points then Markus is Joel Armia, and even then Markus has a better PPG average at 0.72 compared to Armia's 0.70.
His play and subsequent pass at the 12:45 mark of that video was absolutely sick.
