He should be the top Swedish forward prospect right now. His development is something along the lines of what should be hoped for out of those mentioned above him. I don't see Zibanejad reaching those levels.
Petter Granberg was a beast in tonight's game, when Skelleftea won game #6 in the quarter final against Modo, and went on to the semi's. Clearly the best d-man in Skelleftea today. Strong physical presence in the own zone, delivering many hits and had a flawless positioning. His progress this season is amazing. Also had 2+2 penalty for roughing, but it was not much of a fight. Nice to see him laughing off Dick Axelsson . He's a great deal more confident now than last season. I also read that he got the "constructor worker helmet" from his team-mates in the locker room, which is his teams internal award for player of the game.

Totally agree. Granberg has really stepped up his game in the playoffs. His positioning is much better and he's started to use his big frame along the boards and infront of the net.
Why would Färjestad be a bad choice? They give the youngsters lots of opportunities and he would have the best swedish organisation behind him.
FBK has a great organization but Marcus Johansson, a better and their "own" prospect didn't get that much ice time, averaged 14 minutes/game. Other than Johansson, who was the last junior player remotely close to a top6 role with FBK? They have too many good veterans filling up the forward positions.
Not sure what they've been rolling lately but they have Wallin, Sjogren, Bastianssen down the middle.. No, Karlsson has much better options if he wants developmental ice time.
If Johan Larsson goes overseas, Brynas could be a good choice.

Now I've been hearing that he's not getting hardly any ice time on Frölunda, which makes sense in the sense that he has yet to post a point.
What is the reason for this? Isn't that a ridiculous waste of talent to hog a world class talent as a 13th attacker? Is this a problem with the organization, because that kind of ice time seems senseless to me. Why not loan him to an Allsvenskan team or a less stacked Elitserien team?

Beats me. But let's be honest, they couldn't care less about Collberg's draft position and his long-term development. All they/the coach care about is icing what they think win them games. If they want him as the 13th forward on the men's team because he's their 13th best forward, that's where he'll be. They think short-term and they know he will be gone anyway.

For some reason Frölunda tends to give their juniors marginal roles, even though they have very good ones. This often drives them away (like for example the Klingberg brothers) This at least seems to be the case with Kent Johansson as head coach. Frölunda have a history though even before that to devlop good junior players that later show up as quality players in other teams. They value developed players before their own talent (unlike Brynäs for example) is my estimation. There is exceptions of course like Tömmernes, Lasu and Johan Sundström (allthough he could have been given a bigger role this year).

It is a waste of talent, this year has been a complete waste for him. He has averaged about 6 minutes/game on the team and been benched a lot. The top 9 players on Frölunda are pretty good though, there are quite a few former NHLers on there but they have been dealing with injuries but still not giving Collberg a proper chance on a scoring line.
I really wish they would have loaned him to Allsvenskan, a better league for development these days. Hopefully Frölunda gives him more minutes next year or loan him to a better environment, their coach is not exactly known for giving junior players much room, he´s doing the same thing with Johan Sundström. I think he will stick with Frölunda next season but Allsvenskan, CHL or even the AHL would be better options I think.
The team he´s drafted by is probably going to want him to play in the CHL and hopefully he will.

They spend millions on SEL-veterans that are more or less guaranteed to score points, and they can afford to do so. I guess they don't really see the points in playing juniors.

Sadly not all the teams embrace the junior talent they've got. Collberg just recently turned 18 though, we can't overlook that. But he should've been loaned to Allsvenskan after the WJCs. I can't imagine a team possibly drafting him in the mid first round accept a similar scenario next season.
Collberg's been badly handled with the senior team as he has been playing with players he has no chemistry with. Mostly Nicklas Lasu and Mikael Johansson, both PK specialist who doesn't seem to trust Collberg on their line and simply don't pass him the puck despite him being the best passing option. Kenta Johansson simply refuses to put him with good players, even though there's been plenty of chances during injuries. And the few, few shifts he had on better lines or on PP he has looked really good and created a couple good chances. But he has also burned many good scoring chances this year, unfortunately.
However, training with the senior team and being part of the team, even in a minor role, I do believe can be a good thing for a junior. Frölunda probably haven't sent him to Allsvenskan because their partnership with Borås got some bridges burned a while ago. Borås may also simply have said no thanks unless they were guaranteed to have him for the season.
Hopefully we'll see him get a similar treatment as Sundström, who like Collberg sat mostly on the bench in 10/11 but was given a key role in 11/12.
Seems like Max Friberg has been given plenty of ice time in the qualifications and really done the best of it. 2 goals today in a 2-1 OT victory. Hate the word but the guy is really "clutch"
