How bout Don LaGreca? He's already there, and I really enjoy when he fills in for Kenny.

It will probably be Kenny with Don La Greca taking over the radio gig. I would love Howie though, he's my favorite non-Sam broadcaster

I don't think that really matters. You get into a gig like that and for the most part you gotta put your fandom under wraps. Don is very unbiased and does a great job in the pregame shows. And in all honesty, if I didn't already know he was a Devils fan from the Michael Kay show, I wouldn't even know that. Howie's a Rangers fan who works for the Islanders..why can't Don, a Devils fan, be the Rangers announcer?

because we're the Rangers and not some clown organization like the Islanders

If I remember correctly, Kenny & Dave Maloney were used by Versus to call the Rangers vs Bruins game towards the end of last season. The big comeback win. It is funny to listen to the call of that game and hear Maloney shriek when Dubi scored.

Kenny or Howie are fine by me to replace Sam when the time comes.

Maloney as the color guy would be hilarious but I don't think he'd last too long, he's too honest.

Maloney would be great as color guy. Just don't think Dolan would approve. He'd be a lot like Keith Hernandez. The Mets broadcast team is the only reason I watch their games anymore.

Howie is easily the biggest die-hard Rangers fan of any broadcaster in the world, but he's also the most critical. That's why I like him. Every year the Rangers were eliminated from the playoffs or playoff contention, Howie would open his radio show with a 20-minute rant about how pathetic the Rangers were, how pathetic the FO was, how pathetic the Garden was etc. You could tell he had just finished kicking in his TV screen before he went on the air.
This - 100 times this (not convinced about Leetch doing radio color, but everything else). I would love an announcing team that isn't afraid to criticize the team, think Howie would be the perfect PBP guy, and really love Maloney's insights as a color guy. Maloney's not the most polished talker, but that really adds to his charm - he tells it like it is, and always seems to be able to point out something that I've missed.

I didn't mind Joe M when he first got here, but I've really noticing him towing the company line this season. He's not Jack Edwards-bad, but I'd prefer to nip it in the bud before he gets worse. it sometimes makes watching losing games unbearable, because he's glossing over the mistakes the Rangers are making - nothing worse than the Rangers playing awfully and then being patronized about it as well.

Sam's 65, I'm sure he'll go a few more years.
I could definitely get behind Wischusen. He has a great voice.

I like JG but the actual tone of his voice bothers me. It's not a good PBP voice.

Radio is nice, but doing the TV broadcast is where guys want to be.

That said, when you have his voice, and his skills as a PBP guy and the fact that he likes the sport alot, you have a guy that will not last very long in Radio.

He would be great to replace Sam.
I wrote "in part." I sort of remember him saying something about being able to keep the Met games, which was big for him.

Maybe not.

Kenny is great. It would be great to see him get that gig.

He's got a flavor of what his dad brought to Rangers broadcasts back in the day which is very cool, IMO.

Howie is a fine announcer who bleeds Ranger blue. But I have the feeling that a case of bad timing may rob him of the opportunity to land his dream job.
I had no idea that Howie Rose was 58? Thought he was Kenny's age.

Kenny and his dad sound exactly the same to me. I literally cannot tell their voices apart. Does anyone else feel this way?

Albert and Maloney would be great. Much better than our current broadcasters(No offense to Sam, he just doesn't have it anymore).

I agree that Maloney would probably never happen. He doesn't always parrot the company line. He questions decisions, and has his own opinions. Even though I don't remember him ever criticizing our back office, he will call out players/coach. He calls it like he sees it, which is why he is my favorite color guy.

Dear God Giannone? I don't think he is a hockey idiot or anything(I think he knows the game). But he doesn't have the voice for play by play. Albert has a great voice for it, Howie is solid too.

Marv has far too many long pauses between words these days. That's the main difference, lol.

I totally agree, Don is completely unbiased. I would be fine with him, but howie has a better broadcasting voice. I would love Don doing interviews, that is where he shines.

That was great him shrieking like 10 year old girl, how amazing would that be on our broadcast?

Maloney gets REALLY passionate about the game.

let's win another cup before we start discussing things like rosen hanging up the hat. i wonder what he'll say and if it will be anywhere near as epic as the phrase he coined in 1994
