Kenny on TV and move Joe Tolleson from the PA booth to the radio booth? He wasn't the couple of games I've hear him do.

Yeah, I don't watch basketball so I wouldn't know. But as far as what Marv used to sound like when he did Rangers games..the voices are identical.

When Sam hits 70, we're going to let him bathe in Fischler's fountain of immortality so he can call games forever.

Seriously though, I want Howie when Sam retires.

Ugh..can't stand Fischler..hopefully Sam has enough sense to hang it up before he becomes as annoying as Stan is.

Rose is my #1 choice. Probably my favorite pbp guy ever, which means a lot coming from me, considering I'm an announcer snob.

Personally, I'd be alright with Jay Gee. Don't really get the hate. His voice isn't great, but he's efficient.

How do you guys know Rose isn't bound to a contract with the Islanders or something?

But I agree, I want Howie -- but I also might be one of the few who doesn't want Sam to retire! And I find it funny when he calls Ranger/Islander games, he is able to hold in his emotions for the Rangers even though he is rooting for them. It takes alot of skill to do that, for sure.

He is competent in calling a game. But his voice just was not built for play by play. Over a season, I really think it would become irritating.

I hate his fake voice. I much rather have Howie Rose.

How could you be alright with Geems? When he calls a game it is terribly done he sounds like the girl from Small Wonder, and calls the play like he's reading from a book....

Who wouldn't want Howie???? He has one of the greatest calls in Ranger history, probably up there in NHL history, and the man has paid his dues like said before here. Christ he has to call Fishstick games, if that isn't insulting enough.

Because he's an alright announcer. He's better than most full time PBP men around the league, actually.

That may be a lack of quality, but he is FAR from terrible, especially when compared to others.

I actually agree. Not a huge Giannone fan, but I would take him over those awful announcers in Buffalo, Pittsburgh or Tampa Bay ANY day of the week.

Absolutely love Kenny, can't think of anyone else I'd rather have replace Sam ATM. But I also think Kenny is more suited for radio, he's very good at spewing out play-by-play very quickly for those listening who can't see anything.

oh come on rick jeanneret is great!

the choice is obviously gonna come down to howie or kenny for the next guy, but how long will either of them last?

i'm actually a big fan of don lagreca when he does the pbp on the radio, i wouldn't mind seeing him on tv in say..8-10 years doing the games

I'd have no problem with Kenny, but like many I would prefer Howie.
