If Galchenyuk is sliding toward 8th or 9th and we are sitting at 14th or 15th, we need to throw the kitchen sink at somebody to move up. He's the best shot this summer we will have at a top line center.

Goncharov + our 1st.

We have some other assets that would be the equivalent of the normal cost of a second round pick to drop back a couple of slots.

And our 2nd. It would EASILY be worth it.

This Galchenyuk kid has an amazing career, thus far. Last season, the year BEFORE his draft year, he put up 83 points in 68 OHL games.

This on the 12th ranked offense in a 20 team league with an overall record of 25-36-5. Not a powerhouse.

He has size, speed, and smarts from what i understand. No glaring weakness.

He could potentially turn the franchise around.

I dont care if he hurt the shoulder. I'd take him third for this team.

I'm with you. I'd overpay to take this kid based on his play last season. We can afford to do this because of our depth on D. I'll tell you though when he went down I all of a sudden started second guessing that strategy.

I can't imagine him falling past sixth. He is so clearly a cut above all the forwards except Nail and Mikhail. I would love to get him but it would cost more than a second and Gonch to move up far enough.

That's a good thing to hear considering he's headed for a Tippet coached team one day.

Chris Brown is a beast. He's going to be our Ryan Jones. Even bigger and even meaner, though. I wonder if he will add fisticuffs to his repertoire once he hits the AHL. I could see him as somewhere similar to Raffi Torres, too. Basically a ten or fifteen goal guy, not known for his defense but never stops hitting to hurt.

He needs to sign this season. He's proved enough at the NCAA level. He needs to refine his game against men in a 80 game season.

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree. He needs all that the pro game has to offer. Larger, stronger competition, smaller ice, less time, less space, faster pace, requisite split decision making. He's got to prove he can play his game under those circumstances if he wants to be an NHL player.

Last nights college hockey heros were both from Arizona

Luke Moffitt scores double OT winner for Michigan.

Zak Larraza scores double OT winner for Denver.

How's Dominigue been? I remember he had a very good start but haven't heard anything lately.

first half of the Bryzgalov trade.

PA has been god awful this year so I'm interested in seeing if he's a legit prospect or not. We didn't really need any additional depth on D but we'll take it. I don't see Nick Ross garnering another contract.

Not an NHL contract for Ross anyway. If he'll sign on to an AHL deal, similar to what Bloodoff and Bennett did, it's worth the investment.

What's your take on him? Do you think he can be an NHLer?

Arnold went for a checkup last summer after attending the Calgary Flames and New Jersey Devils development camps. Arnold said he wasn’t feeling right, but first thought it was the aftermath of getting bumped around at the camps.

“I decided it would be a good idea to get it checked out before I went back to school,” he said.

Arnold saw the doctor on Aug. 22, his condition was diagnosed on Aug. 23, and he had surgery two days later.
Flames and Devils both looked at him but didn't sign him. Interesting move.

Anyone have a feel for what we can expect? Not much out there on his kid. Sounds like he scored some goals at the Devils camp. This season would have been a recovery season if he was being treated for cancer last fall.

On last night's broadcast, Todd Walsh said some scouts compared him to Raffi Torres. I suspect that's an absolutely best case scenario, but I wouldn't complain about adding a hard-nosed goal scorer to the bottom six.

How is it that the Coyotes keep landing these good signings? I love it, but with our financial situation and ownership situation, it's just pretty interesting that we can still do so well at pulling in prospects.

1) They are proactive
2) Lack of forward depth in their prospect pool
3) Their two best forwards are set to be UFA at the end of the season

essentially money and opportunity. Two things every prospect wants.

True, I guess it really doesn't matter where you play as long as you get to play.
