sub standard from his 125 and 115 point seasons yes, sub standard on this sharks team and in this season league wide no.
thornton is 13th in the league in scoring (4th in the league in assists), 6th in scoring among centers (2nd among centers in assists).
there are only 9 players among the point leaders that are above a point per game, 3 of them are right at 1 point per game.

Sportsnet's Hockeycentral @ Noon with Nick Kypreos just showed the Ratto/Remenda exchange and talked a bit about the Sharks..Kypreos generally agreeing with Drew, saying Sharks may just be build too big and not fast enough for this league anymore.
