Subban as a forward

I know I'm going to get lambasted for this but who cares. I love his stick handling abilities and how many forwards do we have that can do that in the offensive zone. I don't know what else to say about it but the Habs have put their D as forwards many many times..I would just love to see Subban do it for a few games

Regardless of how he would look we don't have nearly the depth at D to lose our biggest minute-eater.

Not even the last 1-2 games? just to see what it would be like? Is it that important to win those games?

What is everyone's fascination with sticking offensive D-men as forwards? This is hardly the first time I've seen it suggested regarding Subban. He might very well make a solid forward.. That being said, his skill set is just too valuable to us on defense. He can play 25+ minutes a night against the opponants best players, and shut them the down despite how bad the rest of this team has been all year.

I've seen other threads on other HF-sub forums regarding doing the same to Kaberle when he was a Leaf, at a time when he was their undisputed #1 defenseman in all situations and putting up 50 pts a year.

He can't stick handle like Subban nor skate as well nor is he as strong. I'm not trying to say "Make it happen" I just think it would be fun to watch for a couple of games as these games that we're watching now are meaningless so why not have some fun and give it a shot and for all those..Gomes as coach and blah blah blah ...give it a rest it's just for fun while the rest of our games mean nothing. I do recall a defenceman on Chicago that did quite well as a forward Bifuglien <sp? nevertheless it's just for fun

He's becoming one of the best young Dman in the NHL, but ya, let's move him up front because he has nice stickhandling. Let's not talk about the amazing job he's doing defensively. That is easily replaceable.

God no, then we might have pairings like Kaberle-Campoli.....oh wait. Subban has to stay on Defense. We need him back there, he can actually handle the forecheck of big lines like Horton-Krejci-Lucic.

I understand what your saying, and I think it would be neat to see..

But he's just too good defensively to waste him in that role. Even using him as a forward the rest of the year, what does it accomplish for us other than something for us to sit back and eat popcorn to? He needs to keep playing defense and to keep getting better there.

Byfuglien was switched to RW as a Hawk... and later reverted back to defense in Atlanta (and later Winnipeg) so switching a player from defense to forward while an NHLer isn't impossible.

He gets to hold on to the puck more as a D than W. Not to mention throw big hits, kill penalties, and shutdown opposition top lines.

I would have thought about this 2 years ago, but his Defensive game has become so good we can't risk it.
