The Joba injury beats the Wheeler injury I read about the other day. These guys really get injured in bizarre ways.

Mike Matheny - hunting knife
Chris Coglan - shaving cream pie(ing) his teamate
Mat Latos - sneezeing
Clint Barmes - carrying Todd Helton's deer meat
Geoff Blum - getting dressed
Marty Cordova - tanning bed
Joel Zumaya - playing Guitar Hero

My faves???? Glen Allen Hill while sleepwalking and scared of spiders, and paxton Crawford rolling over on a glass while in bed?

But the best one ever----Chris Brown -- former SF 3B phenom missed time because his eye hurt. I think he said the corner of his pillow made his eyelid sore and he couldnt see.

Brown ended up getting really fat, and volunteered to go to Iraq as a truck driver delivering supplies from Kuwait.

Apparently the bones broke through his skin and he lost a massive amount of blood. Seriously.

My favorite one is Juan Rivera about decade ago with Yanks. Called up and got lost on the Subway coming to Yankees stadium. Turned up so late that he missed the practise so they had him chasing flyballs in the outfield. Until he ran into a golf cart carrying maintenance equipment. He fractured his kneecap in that incident.

Not a freak injury but somewhat bizarre. Also funny with the story before it. Talk about having a bad day.

It's obviously early but I'm not sold on that trade at all. Cashman has a dubious record of evaluating pitching talent.

He's a horrible pitching evaluator.

Lots of teams have lists like that (lord knows the Mets do). What is amazing is how bad that list is yet the Yankees have remained competitive.

Kevin Brown was 39 when he came to Yankees, Big Unit was 41. Chacon and Ponson were horrible at pretty much every stop. Colon was decent for us last year and picked him up for cheap.

Still a pretty bad list though.
