Stastny Purring Back

Welp, looks like 2011 is finally behind the kid. Has 29 points in his last 36 games (counted since the new year), + 3, 9 goals, 20 assist. Since the deadline he has 10 points in 12 games too. Looks like adding McGinn helped a little.

Looks like he's playing like his old self.

No doubt. While he has his flaws, he is a gamebreaker.

Also adds the fact that he has been great on faceoffs and playing solid on D, couldn't be any happier.

Holy ****. Stastny and RoR are 9th and 8th in FO taken. And while has taken 27 less FO than RoR he is at a 56% and RoR at 53.2%. Stastny is 2nd in FOW% among the top 10 FO leaders (1st is Bergeron at 58.5!) and RoR is tied for 4th FOW% behind Stastny, Wesis, Bergeron and tied with Giroux.

Man it feels nice to win draws, we were terrible at it just a few years ago.

Yup hes been playing some great hockey for us. Was all over the puck last night. Just wish we could get Duchene playing some good hockey right now. Had a bad showing last night and benched the entire 3rd period.

This.

Too many bozos in here that think this is NHL 12 and want to dish off our best players as soon as they hit a slump.

Around here? Yes. Stastny got shredded last year for a down year, much like Duchene this year. Any hint of bad play and it's full ****ing retard mode.

Here here. People give up on players way to easily here. I imagine next year, when he is healed up and Hejduk retires (never thought that that would be a positive ) he'll be back to his regular self.

I'd much rather have Bozak, Komisarek, and that valuable 3rd round pick.

Stastny is Stastny, but the third round pick could be anything! It could even be a Stastny!

Too be fair, Staz still was good on the FO and played decent defensively. Duchene hasn't done **** all. (Not advocating to trade Duchene at all, just saying when Staz hit his slump he still did other things).

I misunderstood your point.

I thought you were saying that Stastny's improved play of late would make Duchene expendable.

It was only after reading your replies that made me realize what you meant and stopped me from writing a very angry response

Thanks for that...hopefully my self-appointed title as the Duchene Apologist for this forum also helped.

If by gamebreaker you mean being a -2 in a must win game against Phoenix then I agree. What wories me is that he regressed pretty bad earlier in the season even before he was injured.
