A #1 and a #2 lost yesterday. Its hard to figure these things out. #3 UMASS Lowell lost a best of 3 series at home to Providence. Two weeks later, they beat #2 Miami. They blow a 3-0 lead in the 3rd period and still find a way to win in OT 4-3. Miami had a 5 minute PP at the end of the 3rd. They couldn't get the GWG. #1 Michigan loses to #4 Cornell. Michigan was the 2nd seed overall. Cornel was #15. Michigan had a terrible CCHA tournament. They barely beat Bowling Green and then lost to Western Michigan in the CCHA title game. Their bad play from last week continued last night.

Oh man, the Lake State game. Bruce Hoffort stood on his head that entire run.

Who starred for St. Lawrence? Was Jamie Baker there?

One more thing about Cornell. They needed to win a 3rd place consolation game in the ECAC tournament just to qualify for the NCAA tournament. Six nights later, they beat Michigan.

Spencer Abbott of Maine suffered a concussion against BU last week. He missed the BC game.

Quote:
What we don't know is whether Abbott will play tonight when the third-seeded Black Bears meet No. 2 Minnesota-Duluth in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament Northeast Regional at the DCU Center.

Abbott suffered a concussion last Friday against Boston University in the Hockey East Tournament at TD Garden. He left the game and didn't return.

Abbott skated with his teammates the last couple of days, but it should be noted he didn't take any contact during yesterday's one-hour, on-ice session here.

Maine plays Duluth tonight at 7:30.

College guys are good for playoff runs. They have a shorter season, long breaks and play in intense games for almost two months if you count the last month of the regular season, the conference playoffs and the NCAA tourney.

Kreider walking into a pressure cooker wont be a bad thing. There's no scouting report on him. Like Hagelin, he can step in and surprise people. He's also played against NHL'ers before, played in NHL arenas and had an NHL frame.

Heading into the season, the Rangers had depth on LW but it was suspect:

Dubinsky
Wolski
Avery
MZA
Fedotenko
Mitchell
Hagelin

The Rangers cannot go into the post season with two zeros on lines 3 and 4. Adding Kreider to Stepan and Callahan gives them flexibility to have offense and defense on a 3rd line and a legitimate checking line as a 4th line.

Hagelin-Richards-Gaborik
Kreider-Stepan-Callahan
Dubinsky-Anisimov-Mitchell
Fedotenko-Boyle-Prust

IMO, Kreider bumps Rupp. Rupp served his purpose. I dont care about his Cup experience. He's never going to play after the st period.

I'd rather sit Mitchell TBH...players like Rupp become very useful in the playoffs.

He was the alumni with the most significant NHL career of that team.

Boston College vs Air Force, today at 4pm
Maine vs Duluth in the evening.

Sry didnt see this comment I think NHL tonight is what used to be NHL on the fly. NHL Live is where EJ Hradek and Bill Pidto sit around and BS.

Just wanted to post this. If you can use ESPN 3 online, here's a link to stream the game sort of: http://espn.go.com/watchespn/index/_...type/upcoming/

You'll have to scroll down and click on the game around 4, but it's straight forward. Cheers, go Air Force! haha

i might be alone as a ranger fan, but i want bc to win it all. there is ZERO guarantee that even if they lose that kreider is going to immediately sign and join the rangers and even less of a guarantee that he'd step in and help us...

think of it this way, if bc as the #1 team in the country loses to #16 air force that potentially leaves 'unfinished' business for him at bc and a possible reason to consider returning for another year. if bc wins the championship then he will be leaving as a winner having won everything and zero reason to think of returning

Unfinished business? He's already won a championship. Winning a second one is just a bonus, not something an athlete considering going pro makes mandatory.

Lets go BC, win the whole thing.

Get another NCAA Championship under your Belt Chris. The experience in Big games can only help.

Lets go BC

somewhat disagree.

Getting the Degree was the focus on staying another year, but since he is still playing, winning it all IS MANDATORY

Right now it is. I agree. I'm talking about in hindsight. If they get knocked out of the tourny, I highly doubt Chris when considering signing with us, is gonna say, "I'm going back to finished some unfinished business, I need a second Championship." Right now he wants to win it, but if he gets knocked out, I don't think winning will be a reason for him to go back for his Senior year.

I'd take Rupp over Mitchell and Fedotenko.

That I agree with.

He's going to have his degree and a NCAA Championship so the un-finished business issue may not be a concern.

Is the BC game on both ESPNU and ESPN3, or just one?
