How Mitchell is still in the lineup is beyond me.praying he sees next to no ice time. Girardi has been pretty god awful too since the ASG. Every game I see him make at least 4-5 blatant errors when he's holding the puck in our zone with the slightest bit of pressure from forecheckers which leads to a chance against. These guys really have to get their heads back in this and start ramping it up again real soon. LGR

I wouldn't say that Girardi makes that many errors. But he certainly gets caught sleeping for at least one play a game.

Girardi is another player that takes months off. Really frustrating. Hopefully next year Staal is back to being Staal and Sauer is back so Girardi's minutes go down significantly.

Sometimes it pays off to trust the players....just my opinion. Let him learn from mistakes and get better.

Nah, its been a chronic problem in his game for almost two months(over handling the puck). The difference is that it hasn't really directly hurt us until last night.

if zook was not injured id bet mitchell would be sat over feds....however, torts doesnt feel good with scott in the lineup so you gotta go with mitchell, id choose mitchell over scott as well...as much as i think mitchell needs a couple games out of the lineup at least, we are out of options...

watch him get a hatty tonight lol

Its a good point, I wish Torts would do a call up though. Perhaps there wasn't enough time considering traveling and back to back games.

He hasn't gotten better all year. Consistently over stick-handling and making stupid plays.

He's bad.

He is bad, but the alternative (John Scott) doesn't make sense against the Leafs.

Its Mitchell's former team.

We have literally nothing left in Hartford to call up besides Newbury and perhaps Wellman.

Pat Leonard ‏ @NYDNRangers

Henrik Lundqvist starting again tonight vs Maple Leafs. Ruslan Fedotenko in due to Mats Zuccarello's injury #NYR

Steve Zipay ‏ @stevezipay

Why Lundqvist? Torts: "He's had plenty of rest. We need to get Hank in some sort of flow."

We need to make moves to address our bottom 6 seriously this off-season. X-Boyle-Prust needs to be our 4th line and we need a REAL third line. It's essential. No guys who COULD be good third liners, like Mitchell, and no guys who aren't even good NHL players like Scott.

Anyway, like I said before, still not looking forward to this game. The team hasn't done anything recently to deserve the confidence i've had in them previously.

Good. Hank needs to get back into it. He's looked better in the last 2 games.

Good call by Torts, he needs to keep playing.

Henrik has played poorly against the Leafs this year. He does need to get back on the horse however. This is a big game for him to show up and get back to winning.

Bringing up Kredier and signing somebody like Ray Whitney would be solid additions to the 3rd line.

I'll be interested to see what kind of fan reaction Johnny Mitchell will receive tonight. Maybe a sarcastic round of applause??

Kreider cannot be "brought up"...he is not signed with the rangers...he first needs to be signed before he can play as a ranger...hopefully BC will lose tomorrow and Kreider can SIGN with the rangers and play, but only IF he fits in like torts and sather hopes (and all of us), which he probably will

I just wanted to clear that up for some on here that think Kreider can just be brought up from a minors team, because that is not true
