Primary Target

Evgeni Nabokov, the former star goalie of the Sharks attempted to make his return to the NHL with the Red Wings...that was until the Islanders intercepted him off waivers. At first refusing to report, Evgeni has since come around to the idea of being in New York, going so far as to sign a one year extension. He's helped keep them at least somewhat competitive in an ever-changing goalie tandem.

Red Hot Cat Of The Night

Tomas Fleischmann who has 5 points in his last 5 games and leads the team with 23 goals.

Nabokov is a surprising story. On the reason he signed an extension with the isles IMO is because they offered him about 1 million more than anyone else would have in the off season.

Absolutely no reason at all to lose this game. We've beaten the Isles in the other three meetings this season and they're playing in Tampa tonight.

Time to go out there and get back on the winning track

Gotta bring 2. I'll be disappointed in any other result. Time to buckle down, and seal this thing up. LGP!

Last game with our Jet Blues against a terrible team like the Isles..Of course we shouldnt take them lightly!!

Good thing is we are riding a 3 game winning streak with these jerseys and we should end it with a 4th win.. We can afford to lose this game against the Isles..
In the meantime we have to hope that the Wild will be successful in WSH. These could be very big points for us because we are struggling again to score goals..This outbreak didnt help us at all..Now we have to go back to basics. One goal against EDM is terrible IMO

Keys to the game: skate, hit, shoot, crash net.

We're not good at any of the above, and choose to rely on our shootout prowess instead...

Can't sleep on this team. Big two points today, looking for guys like Steeg and others who didn't have a great game Friday to come out and have corrected their shortcomings.

I'm getting a little frustrated with our tendency to play down to the level of our competition. How do we beat Boston and Philly one week, and then lose to Carolina and Edmonton?? We have some very winnable games here in our final two weeks, and I think tonight is where we have to turn it on and show that we're ready to compete in the playoffs.

I figure Nabby re-signed with the Islanders as a sort of insurance policy. With potential CBA issues looming in the summer, it's better to have one contract than nothing. Plus, the goalie market has been bad.
