Honestly, I think the series has had been down hill since 09(that was one of the best hockey games ever made).
09 was also the last year that montreal team worked on it and it shifted to Vancouver. Vancouver I think has been largely mediocre.
I am waiting to see what they do this year, because 13 is supposed to be the last part of the three year cycle. This year is supposed to be their best game. I am skeptical.
That also explains why Vancouver is so overrated in the game
Wouldn't surprise me at all if the name "Madison Square Garden" is a trademark. I know that "Carnegie Hall" is a registered trademark, and if one performs a concert at that famed venue, you would have to pay extra $$$$ just to use that name on the cover of an album or CD.

I've hated mechanically what Vancouver has done to the game. Skating, especially turning, has a jerky feel to it. Not smooth or even very responsive at times. Power passing is great idea in theory, but its poorly executed. Passes are difficult to aim(probably due to the jerkiness of skating). Plus its really annoying with Be a Pro, because most on-line players never take the time to learn how to properly pass(I swear at least 85 percent of them probably don't even know there is a cancel button).
Also, whoever has coded the AI, should never work on sports game ever again. In 12, the AI on the transition is so bad its not even funny. Forwards cherry picking in the neutral zone(sometimes all three), clogging the middle, or not even bothering to support the puck along the half wall(which requires my Dman to skate the puck out of the zone way more than he should).
Not to mention the offensive zone positioning is poor as well, they never skate to the gaps or support the puck. They also set up screens WAY too much and at the worst possible times.
The Defense leaves huge gaps on Rush plays.
I could go on and on.
At least when Montreal worked on it, the game had a good sense of flow even with some of the cheesy glitch goals.

Held 1st in 3 leagues for most of the season, finished them 2nd, 2nd, and lost the 3rd place game. The only 1st place I took was in a league I went in as the number 5 (technically 2nd in points) and beat the #1, which I expected to lose.
See you all next year.

3rd in Champs League for me. I was disappointed, but the top teams were really well drafted and managed. Congrats to rc259667 for taking down the mighty Ailuophile.
5th in League 5 after I joined mid-season. Fun league. I liked the 3 moves per week rule.

Looking forward to next September!
Burning up my 20 moves 3/4 of the way in really hurt me in the Champs league, I'm terrible with that, haha.
Good work guys. I though I over achieved all year anyway, sucked to storm all the way to first in the Champs league in the last weekend of the season and then bow out in the first round of POs. Oh well. Good work guys, see you next year.
I won league 1!! My first year ever playing fantasy hockey! Fun season guys.
Funny story, in the last round of the playoffs, my goalies weren't doing that great- that and my opponent had Elliot and Rinne(Giguere was never used). I had Price, Varlamov and Emery. I pretty much dominated offensively but he beat my +/- and beat me with assists by one. I pick up Allen York knowing the decision would decide whether I won or not, and he did great! Created a tie in wins and gave me the edge in save %. Won 6-4.
Here's the season ending team(Varlamov was there for me the entire season):
Tyler Seguin
(Bos - C,RW)
Sidney Crosby
(Pit - C)
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
(Edm - C)
James Neal
(Pit - LW,RW)
Milan Lucic
(Bos - LW)
Tomas Fleischmann
(Fla - LW)
Alexander Radulov
(Nsh - RW)
Jarome Iginla
(Cgy - RW)
Ryan Callahan
(NYR - RW)
Jakub Voracek
(Phi - RW)
Michael Del Zotto
(NYR - D)
Ian White
(Det - D)
Brian Campbell
(Fla - D)
Lubomir Visnovsky
(Anh - D)
Jeff Skinner
(Car - C,RW)
Joe Pavelski
(SJ - C,RW)
Rick Nash
(Cls - LW,RW)
Goaltenders
G Allen York
G Carey Price
BN Emery
Fleischmann(replaced T. Myers I think), Radulov(replaced Stewart), Campbell(replaced L. Shenn), White(replaced Pronger), and Emery(can't remember replacement) were the only changes I made throughout the season. Despite not having Crosby I help 1st for most of the season.
Sorry to gloat, I'm just pretty proudhttp://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/images/smilies/laff.gif If only it was for money... Champions league next year??
This may be the first time I've won a fantasy hockey league, usually I kick ass in fantasy football and suck at fantasy hockey for whatever reason. This year I had solid contributions throughout my lineup, and my defense chipped in huge.

Thanks, I had a blast playing in the league and i hope I get a chance to defend next season.
Have they been keeping up with running their simulation this post-season? The last 2 years, it was plastered everywhere and this year I think they did it once way back in October and then a few months ago for the 1st round and that was the last I heard of it. Anyone know where their results are, if anywhere?
