You honestly think this team is about to go 5-0? Especially when guys like Duchene and Hejduk aren't producing at all.

The Avs had all of the momentum until Trollver's leaping crosscheck and the scrum that followed. That play pissed off the Canucks and gave them a reason to wake up. The 2 goals they scored followed quickly.

Then with the Canucks back to playing complacent hockey and giving the Avs all the room in the world, Downie takes that run at Hamhuis. After that the Canucks put the pressure back on.

You're playing for your playoff lives, and yes, intensity is a good thing, but don't go around pissing off a team that's has nothing to play for, especially after they just watched their best player get taken out by a cheapshot. Incredibly stupid decisions by both players.

It seems like you're just disappointed right now and I understand that but I didn't expect you to throw him under the bus that way. Some others yeah but not you.

I'm going to avoid these boards for a few days or at least until the SJ game.
I'm very disappointed as well because I was getting my hopes up for the play-offs and I was optimistic we could get a W tonight when we were leading 2-0 but come on, this team is young, they've played a good game, were unlucky.
They obviously were trying to win, it wasn't enough. That happens.

I think we had a good chance with EJ. Barrie has made some nice little plays and created some chances but in the end he hasn't helped the team on the scoresheet at all. He also hasn't made any big plays to prevent a goal.

Losing EJ is the one thing this team couldn't afford and it happened when we needed him the most.

Duchene looked a lot better overall tonight. But he needs to stop going fishing and seeing taylor swift concerts and work on his game nonstop with someone like radar who is seemingly much more dedicated. Duchene's problem is probably that he had so much natural talent that he never had to work that hard before. Unlike radar who has had to work so much harder to get the most out of himself and its paying off.

I think it is because we drafted him 3'rd overall so we have high expections.

Dont get your hopes up. We need someone to suddenly tank because winning out will be very tough. Avs aren't getting any help lately...

Whatever.

Back spasms. I hope he needs surgery or something because while other guys in history have played through injuries (Sakic in the Stanley Cup Finals, Downie right about now) when we needed them the most, EJ remains on the shelf.

Argh, three way tie for 8th, two less games played. If we lose next game, i think we'll be out unoficially. We're still in this one for now!

He could take a page out of Jagr's book.

Avs need EJ back. Keep Barrie up, sit one of Wilson or O'Brien.

Still... trade the guy? He's trying, effort was there tonight. He's being made the scapegoat when he wasn't one tonight.

Hope he gets surgery is harsh. But he needs to suck it up.

Barrie did have a pretty good game up until that point. However that was by far his best in a series of not very good ones, and he didn't find the scoresheet, while his bad play lost the Avs a point.

It's not Barrie's fault, he's just too much of a liability in his own zone at this point in his career.

The Avs needed a vet depth defenseman after trading Quincey, so they didn't have to rely on guys that aren't ready for the NHL if they lose one D. It hurt them tonight.

Completely disagree. I don't think it's a work ethic problem. I think it's more of a maturity/hockey sense problem.
