But, if the Preds are going to go from being a nice playoff story until their annual early exit to a true contender, they're going to have to quit crapping the bed when they have their chance to shine.
No sorry I was talking about our game against Edmonton Oilers (being the lesser team). I know the Pens are a good/great team. But we lost to both (a good team and a lesser team). And since several teams tonight got beat by alot of goals, I was just pointing out that it happens like it did w/ us against the Pens and the Preds aren't the only ones that lose by alot of goals and the fact that the teams tonight got beat by lower ranking teams shows that it happens also just like it did to the Preds against the Oilers (who we seem to never play very well against whenever we play them anyways). But I agree if they want to be true contenders then they have to play at a whole another level than they have been and step up their game, which imo they haven't. Right now they aren't true contenders for the cup imo. But I would like to get pass the second round if possible but the way they have been playing lately, they will be lucky if they get pass the first round unless they start playing like they were in the middle of the season during their winning streak.

I still think this game was bad. ALL 3 PERIODS we gave up a goal within 2 minutes (ok, 2:03 in the 3rd) of the start. Game time is when the puck is dropped. There is no feeling out process, the other teams just come at us. You can tell when the team is really ready to go or not just on the opening face-off.

Every time the Preds have a chance to do something good or start to get a hint of media talk, they lay such an egg. They have not learned how to handle success yet.

Interesting stat I heard on the Pens radio....Rinne has been pulled 4 times this season and in the next game he starts he is 1-3.

Also read on the twitter feed on the Preds site:
12/22 and 12/23 was the last time Preds gave up 11 goals in 2 games. Preds then went 13-3 in their next 16.

At the game the Pens gave away garden gnomes. I think all the gnomes we used on Corey Perry last year came back to bite us this time.

Not when he's slightly off his game. Watch Peks on the goals he's giving up high ... he's not just dropping to his knees while remaining relatively upright. He's crouching and lunging while already down so rather than his shoulder still near cross bar height, he's relatively small and dependent on the glove hand.

Looks like the Pens took a beating by Mike's former team, Senators:

Final score was 8-4.
