My son tossed a brand new "hats for heores" lid signed just the day before by Johansen, Moore, and Gillies. Grrrr...
After the game they let you go collect your hats if you want. Not sure on the rules the day after i would call the arena and ask. I bet you can get it back.

Thanks for the tip. I may just call. Although it just may have been "claimed" last night by someone else. Sweet hat.
How many do you think were there? Didn't look to me that any more than one out of three seats were filled overall.
There was at least 10-12k, but I will agree that 15k did seem a little high.

Mason would have had a shutout, but his glove had a manufacturing defect causing him to drop the puck on the initial shot. The equipment manager had best step it up.
I really like then way you put that, CR, I might have been less charitable! Still, he made good first saves and had a lot of luck. RJ almost had the trick earlier in the third when Nash gave him a great feed. Glad he got it, later, or he would really have been pissed at himself!
Just stopping by to say that Brassard`s keep-in before Umberger`s goal was unheard of. If someone has a gif, PM me.
I`m happy to see you win some games. Hockey gods should be fair to you and help you win the draft lottery. Good luck during the draft/offseason and next year.
Yep, very nice play. I, too, would like to see a gif of that
I always enjoy the "announced crowds" for Jackets games. Always an enjoyable work of fiction. No more than 6,000 in the house. Lower bowl was a ghost town.
Calling BS on this one, sorry.
I know being negative is what all the cool kids are doing, but let's not exaggerate. There may not have been 15k but it was easily within range of that.

Never knew that. Seems kind of against the tradition to me. I like losing a hat like this, and buying a replacement after the game. I've done this for every hat trick I've ever seen. This year might be the first time I bought the same exact hat three times though
You're saying he's stopped caring about this season?

I'm saying he's stopped caring about this organization. I'm sure he still cares about his play and his teammates.
He should just pull himself out with whatever "injury" he has. He could actually get injured in the last 8 meaningless games and hurt the return the loaf could garner.

Are you sure about this? I have always heard that once it hits the ice, it is property of the team. (Unless of course you are a Columbus Police Officer, heh heh) What would keep a bunch of people from just taking hats that aren't theirs?

I am nearly positive that hats thrown onto the ice become property of the team and not retreivable.

The upper bowl was deserted. It couldn't have been much more than 33% full.
The lower bowl was far less than 50% populated. How could anyone have seen this arena as 80% full (14,500)?
It's not being negative. Many teams fudge their attendance figures. I've been to 15 games this year it appears to my eye that the norm is to double the actual attendance with announced numbers. Friday night was the most overcooked number I've seen. I'm sure the organization uses some "tickets distributed" justification to account for the difference in actual and announced numbers.
The only people who know for certain are those at Nationwide and in the CBJ organization who have the exact "drop count" for the game.
It doesn't bother me. I enjoy the extra space and the $5 upper bowl and $10 lower bowl tickets. I like going to the games and believe that attendance will become respectable when (if) the team becomes competitive. But, the announced figures are farcical and have been all year.

I really hate to admit this, I've just reached the point where I stopped caring about this season.
Wow you are slow!
I hope that I my situation is similar to others. We typically attend at least 25 games per year. This year we have attended 4 regular season games. And only paid for 2. I just hope the organization realizes how screwed the pooch is right now. It is going to take some time before I will be willing to give my cash to the arena district.

Five minutes before puck drop I was thinking about taking a picture to show just how empty the arena was, knowing that folks would not believe it on a Friday night.
It filled in some as the first period progressed (like the 40-some Science club kids that paraded back and forth in front of us for potty breaks, popcorn, etc.) but there were plenty of fans disguised as empty seats. It might have been in the same zip code of 15k, but not the same neighborhood.
