Especially if he withdrew from the university mid-semester.

Does this mean he's going to sign with the Wings and make the jump?
Looks like the Devils plan to sign Corbin MacPherson as well, judging by that list.

He will likely complete his classes but will no longer be a student athlete.
The Wings have also confirmed that he signed an ELC:

Sounds like he'll get a few games in Chicago this year, it'll be interesting to see how he does.

This guy looks like he could be of Schneider's caliber, not sure how they'll make room for him next season unless Lack moves up and splits time with Climie.

TSN confirmed the Arnold signing.

Capgeek confirmed NY Rangers signing Andrew Yogan.

Finally added in Austin Smith (Just kinda forgot about him).

Why yes, I am checking Capgeek at 1:22am for some reason.

Justin Florek made his pro debut for Providence of the AHL last season (Scoring 2 goals and 4 points). Florek, who had 19 goals and 36 points in the NCAA this past season, is a Bruins draft pick, so I'd suspect he and the Bruins are likely working on a contract right now.

According to a poster on the Bruins board, Florek will be signed after the Bruins have some contracts off the board, likely after July 1st and that the Bruins have signed Zach Trotman to an NHL deal (which was part of the reason Yuri Alexandrov was traded). Still, I'll have to wait for some kind of confirmation from the team, or something.

The Islanders were in on Krug. I saw him interviewed on Friday by Buccigross and Melrose. He looks like he is 10 years old.

Quote:
#Isles may be in on Mich. State D Torey Krug. Small (5-9, 175), skilled puck-mover. Several teams looking to sign. Could decide this wkend.

How many 5-9 175 pound D are playing in the NHL right now? None.

Confirmation from the Bruins on Krug, now, too.

Quote:
Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has signed college free agent defenseman Torey Krug to an entry-level contract. Krug will report to the Boston Bruins (NHL) and will be eligible to play in the remaining regular season games with Boston, but not the postseason... he set career bests in goals (12), assists (22) and points (34) and was named the CCHA Player of the Year and a 2012 Hobey Baker Award Finalist. He led all CCHA defenseman in scoring, was selected as the Best Offensive Defenseman for the second straight season and shared the CCHA scoring crown with Notre Dame’s T.J. Tynan, becoming the first defenseman to capture a CCHA scoring title since 1986-87.

Jared Spurgeon is the closest I can think of. 5-9 as well and only 10lbs heavier than Krug.

Really thought Krug would sign with Carolina but I'm not too disappointed. I guess it makes sense for him to sign somewhere where there's not such a huge glut of defensive prospects.

Is he that good?

And height doesn't matter as much as speed in todays NHL.

Dallas has this year's top two goal scorers in the country, in Austin and Reilly Smith.

Austin was signed last week, and he's playing in Texas. Reilly's making the jump straight to Dallas.

Should be fun to watch this kid's debut!

Question for the cap gurus - is Reilly Smith eligible for the NHL playoffs should the Stars get there? He was obviously signed after the trade deadline but was in their control as a draft pick. He is not on the AHL clear day roster, for what it's worth.

I'm really unclear, to be honest. In the press release for Boston signing Krug, it states that he's not available for the playoffs, which is a surprise to me.
