No surprise Burke is targeting Tom Wilson. Can see him trading up for Tom

Yes because drafting a guy at 6 who is ranked 7 (Galchenyuk) or 10 (Faksa) is such a stretch.

I'd be happy if Burke managed to grab any of Grigorenko, Galchenyuk, Faksa or Gaunce.

Tom Wilson? That sounds like a hockey superstar

“Punishing winger with decent hands and promise in slot anchoring. Skating is a work in progress but his impact as an imposing offensive corner punisher is undeniable. Not destined to be a 20-goal NHLer, but will have merit down low and in front, as he brings nastiness and grit.”

sounds like another 3rd-4th liner.

There's a difference between a 3rd-4th liner and a good 3rd-4th liner on a cup contender. I think people overlook that area far too often sometimes.

I know we need top end talent but getting that sort of depth kind of like Boston has on its 3rd and 4th lines is just as important imo.

If Burke keeps the pick and its top 5, Id like to see him trade down and take Faksa or Gaunce. Both look to have a nice mix of top end skill and Jam.

I could see Burke making a few moves to secure Wilson. Maybe move Holzer to Anahiem for their 2nd?

Interesting that Cox would mention Faksa when his stats arent that far off Gaunce. Is the potential of Faksa that much greater?

Exactly! I think Burke is trying to build a team that's really hard to play against like Boston. Wilson would be a fine second round pick.

Well the high draft picks being overrated bit is just totally incorrect ... Maybe not worth shooting him over, but he is wrong.

Ya, I probably should have actually looked at their rankings. My bad. Sorry guys.

Yup. Can't believe that needs to be explained.

Compare our 3rd-4th line players to the scouting report of Tom Wilson

Add Jake McCabe to this list. IMO Wilson goes in the late first.

Also no to Faksa... we need to move up and take Galchenyuk/Grigorenko/Forsberg. Not a knock on Faksa, but I think it's really important we get a high-potential palyer.

That's my personal order of C's in the top end of the draft.

I would laugh so hard if Burke didn't draft any of these guys Grigorenko, Galchenyuk, Faksa, Gaunce, Wilson.

I think you're selling Faksa way short imo.

I've seen a few Rangers games this and he's stood when in the times I watched.

I may get flamed for this cause he seems to be the darling of this board but I don't think there's much difference between him and Galchenyuk. In fact I would say the main difference is Gachenyuk plays with Yakupov.

Here's some of his work.
