That was you.

I am not implying that.

I think Renney did the right thing most of the season with Petry and RNH. Ease them into the line up with light and soft minutes, let them get their feet wet.

Petry played almost 25 min tonight and has logged similar minutes the last 10 games. Wouldn't you ask a question or want to throw it out there on a discussion if all of a sudden he played 4 minutes even strength minutes less than our other dman when he's having a very good game?

It's the same question i am asking about why RNH has been playing so well the last 4-5 games and we played him 4 minutes less than Gagner tonight. Not complaining, just puzzled.

Renney would be a good player development guy.

That was one of his jobs with the Rangers, when Potter was in their system.

Very happy with this. Call me crazy, but I have an insane gut feeling that Ryan Murray is the better choice in the long run over Grigs, 3rd pick almost forces us to go with him.

Blame the media. They've done a great job conditioning us to expect losses and failure. In both papers this weekend there were columns lamenting that the Oilers might, might fall out of the lottery with the way they're playing.

Oh noes!

Seriously. They will probably still end up 29th or 28th but the improvement has been a nice surprise and this roadtrip was a very solid one. If this is a sign of things to come we should be happy.

Winning the Calder or get Eberle to point per game are not the most important in the grand scheme of things, but is it the not important at all to a point you play them 5 shifts less in a game like this?

Why play Gagner/Hemsky every second shift in the 3rd with 9 shift in total for each compare to 6 shifts for RNH & Eberle(not counting the PK shift at the end of the game)? And in total 4 more even strength minutes for Gagner than RNH?

I am not asking to play RNH & Eberle more than Gagner/Hemsky, just why not play them same number of shift?
Accepted. I was going on the trend I had seen in the past few games with Eberle on the PK, I stand corrected with reguards to the 3rd period. My intial post was was in reguards to posters upset that RNH and Eberle played an extreme amount less than others in third and were bitter at Renney, when in reality they played 1 minute less EV then said players in the third.

I'm not condoning or agreeing with Renney's ice time allocation to his younger players today or in the past. Many of his decisions this year have left me baffled, but getting upset after a win because he wasn't sending out Eberle and RNH to pad their stats just kind of leaves me miffed. The Oil won and the young guys put up points should we not just be happy? All the talk about RNH in order to win the Calder needs to put up points and people getting upset when he isn't playing a tonne of minutes. It reminds me of parents/coaches who's kids are playing teir 7 novice during minor hockey week and they just play the one kid who can skate the whole game because you know winning the teir 7 champioship will be the pinnacle of their lives.

The last part of that statement isn't directed at you. It's just a statement in general.

I thought he played a good game. No glaring mistakes, not sure how he did in the faceoff dept I wasn't really paying attention. Nice to see him score in the big show, I think that grabbing the first NHL goal does wonders for a guys confidence and he'll take that back to OKC when he goes back.

If that was why you're upset, then that's one thing. The fact of the matter is you're simply upset because you want RNH to get more minutes for no other reason so he can strengthen his bid for the Calder Trophy.

Anyone else notice that Jones should of had a assist on Gagner's goal giving him 4 points tonight?

If that's the goal I'm thinking about it was a stick lift or something, I don't think he touched it.

Oh noes!
Although winning is good it does nothing at this point in time. I'd rather lose (but play well) and preserve our high draft standing as in the long run it will help the team more.
