Will the heritage jersey be the regular jersey next year?

Over the past few years we have seen a few teams making their home jerseys similar to one in their past, and most of these jerseys were thirds for a year or two before. And the more I think about it, the more I think that the Sens will do this next year. For one thing they wore the thirds for a lot of games that would draw more then the usual amount of media. 4 times against Montreal, 2 times against Toronto, Hockey Day in Canada (Also Phillips 1000 game ceremony), against the defending Stanley Cup champs, against the supposed to have Crosby Penguins. St. Louis and Colorado are the only two other times it was worn. Also the team seems to be using these jerseys for promotional purposes (for example all the season ticket, or xx game packs ads have a pic of a Sen in the heritage jersey). Ice ethics also posted a while ago that there was a rumor we are getting a new away jersey next year.

Would you like this move? Dislike it? Not care?

Personally I would like it. It is a much better look then our current in my opinion, and I would like this franchise to do more to embrace the history of the original Sens

Jerk Store is probably working on a road jersey as we speak.

I've got a black Karlsson, would get a white Cowen, and for red either Foligno, Smith, or Greening

I would like the move as long as we kept a third jersey with the old 2D logo from the 90's/2000's

That vintage white one is amazing. The red one doesn't work. The black one has soured a bit on me, although it's still a good jersey. Don't really like the nameplates though, would prefer it if they were kept as is.

I doubt it, he shot that idea down pretty quickly in this thread. When he was working on the third jersey, I am pretty sure he wasn't even aloud to discuss it at all.

I doubt it becomes the new primary jersey, although I think it SHOULD.

I'd rather have the old 2d logo as the primary; they never should have strayed from that. But I love the heritage jersey and hope that sticks around as an alternate.

The Heritage jersey will for sure be around next year. NHL mandate is that a jersey has to be kept as an alternate for 2 years before it can be retired

I think the heavy use of the heritage jersey this year is more thanks to the 20th anniversary year. They're using this to celebrate the history of both old and new sens, this jersey is a joining of the two, makes sense that it would be worn a lot this year. Also a few of the games have specific reasons it was worn (Colorado was the debut game and they wanted to give tickets away, Montreal had that heritage train game the other week, and wasn't there a heritage game where we and the leafs wore our thirds? Still very possible though.

Personally I would not like these as home jerseys, I'm happy with Red as our homes.

Also, for those concepts, I think the Away jersey should be White-white and that the red version just looks unpleasant...

Yeah I would vote to keep it as is... I've always liked the red ones... The Heritage jersey to me is so so, never really did excite me anywhere near as much as the rest of the fanbase...

I like the heritage as a special jersey, I'd get pretty mad if we used it full time.

I obviously love the Heritage jersey, I think it looks spectacular on the players an on the fans, especially when you see a bunch of them together. However, I feel that the modern day Senators should have their own brand. I feel the current uniforms are a little too generic, but revisiting and tweaking the first sets would be a very good starting point.

When the entire point of making new jerseys is to sell them to the fans and grow your brand I never got why teams don't make more of an effort to gauge the feelings of their fan base.

It seems like teams often just make whatever they want and expect people to like them. Just look at the Islanders this year and I'm sure you'll see that almost the entire fan base dislikes the new third, so why bother making it?

I'd love to see a poll on the official Senators website and a poll done at Scotiabank Place during the season asking the fans if they would like a return to the old 2D design.

I know I would really love a return to the franchise's roots and they always seem to be the most popular on this board as well. Starting next year off with the 2D uniform home/away and the heritage third would be awesome.

Agreed. I think most of us can really identify with the old 2D logo. For me, it brings a sense of pride and reminds me of how far this organization has come from the civic centre days. The 3D newish logo reminds me more of the pizza line and dany heatley for some reason (which is not a good thing).

I guess one of the organization's main hesitations with bringing back the old 2D logo is that most people already have jerseys and gear with it, so they won't make a ton of cash by bringing it back.

As a solution, maybe they could bring back the old 2D logo, give it a slight tweak and/or change the jersey template a little. You'd end up with a new/old 2D jersey, if that makes sense.
