They've lost games late in the season here, that they completely controlled.

I don't expect this to remain true the rest of the way.

So tired of listening to its not Lundqvist fault. He had another bad game. If those same goals went in on Biron everyone would be saying how it is his fault. When it comes to Henrik though it is never his fault. He needs to make some of those saves. They were shots that could of been stopped.

The Rangers are playing Montreal at home (they are cursed in Montreal). Since the lockout the Rangers are 8-4-1 against Montreal at home. Unfortunately, the Rangers have gone 1-1-0 over the past three seasons and are currently 1-0-0.

Underestimating your opponent is what usually leads to loses against bad teams

RELAX!
We have a losing record against both of those teams this season, and Montreal has crushed us in recent memory. Not exactly an easy schedule.

this. also, i consider buffalo one of the softest teams in the league and they just spanked us. i'm not hitting the panic button just yet but man do these rangers seem to make every single game a nailbiter for us fans.

Once again, you must have been watching a different game than the rest of us.
And if Pollock called the cross check to the head of Dubinsky we would have been on a powerplay instead of giving up the second goal.

Last night was supposed to be an "easy" win, and so was last week's game against the Avs.

Lundqvist became his normal self plus Torts took his foot off gas pedal once it became apparent we made a playoffs. Oh, well...

The fact that Slats didn't give Kreider for Nash suggests that we are no good for Cup this season. Now not only we see Slats was right, but we also see why.

We can get by easy schedule and win the division only to play Buffalo in 1st round. Not only history suggests that hot 8 place team could be a problem, Buffalo has better man in G at the moment. I hope Hank will pick himself up in two weeks, but I'd rather face Bryzgalov.

Not sure why people don't get that there are very few "easy" wins in the NHL. Even the worst team in the league wins every 3rd night...and players don't just roll over because a higher ranked team comes to town.

I have to second this. We just don't want to believe it's ever Lundqvist's fault, but he has let quite a few through that should of been stopped.

Especially teams battling for a playoff spot. Avs are tied with the Kings and San Jose the last time I checked. Even Toronto made the game uncomfortable to watch during certain stretches.

I didn't consider the Avs a "easy win" as they showed us they are a really tough team to play against fighting for their playoff lives. I gotta say though, just saw the Leafs play live against the Devils and they looked TERRIBLE, Devils were all over them ALL GAME. The Leafs played much better against us, even tho both games went to a SO

I don't think I can relax, but I'm not ready to give up on winning the Division and the 1st seed.

I can never relax this close to playoff time.

I stii think we have a good shot at 1st and more importantly we can do some damage in the playoffs.

ECF against the pens...

I gues that is unlikely? (ECF against pens)

Still if we win the Div, pen and flyers go at it, that could be a tough series

We could play Columbus for the next 7 games and I'd still be concerned.

Well I'd say the Devils stand a good chance at beating whoever wins the Southeast division. If all the other high seeds win, we'd then have 1 2 4 6, so the 4 seed would play the 2 seed. Considering the Rangers and Penguins will be the 1 and 4 seed, in some combination, the odds aren't THAT bad of an ECF matchup. Depending on how you rate the Debbies' chances against the SE division winner, one might even be of the opinion that we're more likely to play the Penguins in the ECF than in the ECSF.

If our road through the East is Capitals, Debbies, Pens, I'd be nervous about our chances of going all the way. It would however, make for some awesome hockey.

The annoying thing is dropping all the way to 4th. We could have the 2nd most points in the whole league, and be a 4th seed.

Personally, I hate the fact that the division winner automatically gets 1-3 seeding.

I highly disagree. He's a professional athlete. Anyone with any sense of pride and self respect will give 100% not matter what. I just think the whole team is tired.

We just need a little help from the Islanders the next two games. I am not worried with our schedule, if we play them like we did earlier in the season we will be fine.

I don't think the Rangers' schedule is reason for solace, but the Penguins schedule may be. They just had a back to back, then have another one Thu-Fri, with a Sunday 12:30PM start against Philly...and the teams they are playing are good.

Their back up goalie is craptastic.

Maybe his normal "bad month" self. If this was his normal self for the entire year he'd be either a backup or in the AHL.
