2012 Entry Draft: Top 10 Montreal Canadiens Wish List (Poll #2)

We can very much assume that the 2011-2012 edition of the Montreal Canadien will finish in the bottom third of the NHL standing. With that in mind, what would be the top 10 players from the 2012 Entry Draft that the Habs should be targeting as their first selection? To reformulate the question: in order, what is the 10 players the fans on this board want to see wear the Canadiens jersey in the future.

In a series of 10 consecutive poll, ten players will be up for voting each round. The first ten players up for voting will be taken from the latest International Scouting Service list. You will be invited to nominate a player to be add in each rounds.

The poll should last between 24-48 hours and will be close automatically. In case of a tie, a poll between the best nominees will be add.

Mikhail Grigorenko sounds like the best pick to me...I never seen him play but I have read a lot of good things about him

I voted Grigorenko despite the supposed question marks surrounding him. If we have the chance of adding a possible franchise center for the upcoming 15 years, I think we have to take it. With his enormous talent and big frame, I think he is the BPA after Yakupov.

In addition to that, I also think it's usually easier to sign great UFA wingers (Kovalchuk, Hossa, Gaborik, possibly Parise, and also decent top-6 wingers like Cole, Gionta, Cammalleri, etc) than great centers.

Very interesting that a lot of us would still pick Grigs number 2 after everything we've heard about him the last couple of months...

Grigs for me today...

But that could well be Galchenyuk or Forsberg by draft day when CHL playoffs and U18 are played.

Add Faksa.

Voted Grigs because if I had to make it, that's what I'd do but wouldn't be disappointed by adding Forsberg or Dumba as well. Same for Galchenyuk if he is as advertised.

Here's a thought. Assuming we draft Grigs or Galyenchuk, both of which are centers, who moves down or gets traded? Plex, DD and Eller can all play centre. Does Eller move to the wing? I'm not sure I like that as Eller has some mad skills and can be a really good 2nd line centre in the future IMO.
What will we do?

Doesn't matter at this point. I've got to think that whoever we pick spends a minimum of another year in the minors.

Then if they make Plekanec expendable, trade Plekanec. Have DD and Gal/Grigs as our top two centers. Eller as the Jordan Staal-esque 3rd line center.

Yeah trade Plekanec + ? for a top 6-7 pick this year and get Forsberg or Galchenyuk

Grigs for sure. Having that big, number 1 centre is too good to pass up. I like Gal too, but Grigs seems more dominant on his game.

No. That's a disastrous move.

You don't trade a guy to make room for another guy until you know he's ready and capable of producing.

I really liked two players amongst those... but I'll go with the one that makes the more sense.

Filip Forsberg

Add Radek Faksa

On the other hand... Brandon Gaunce? Wasn't impressed at all when I saw him. Might have been an off night, though.
