When we retain the 1 seed, which possible 8 would you rather play?
I'd probably go with the Sens because it means they're continuing to slide. Then I'd go with the Sabres because the Caps have a much better ROW number. They've been screwed by shootout that won't exist in the playoffs.
(if a mod can make a poll that'd be cool)
You sir, are a good man. We will retain it.
Jaime Lannister has better hands than Brian Boyle.
Jesus it's like we aren't in the playoffs. I remember last year when people were saying "if we make it in we have a shot to go far." Now it's "we didn't get first, we may as well throw in the towel."
THIS JUST IN
THE SKY HAS JUST FALLEN THE SKY HAS JUST FALLEN! THE RANGERS SUCK BECAUSE THEY AREN'T UNDEFEATED! TRADE EVERYONE!
Sens, Sabs, Craps. The Craps are like a ticking time bomb. At any minute things could click for them and they could go on a tear. Hell, they've already been shaping up. I want no part of them. Buffalo will also be tough because Miller could easily stonewall us. We match up best against the Sens because they have weak goaltending and our defense would match up decently against them.
I'm confident we could take anyone of the Sabs, Caps, OTT, or FL in the first round, however my main concern is with the Rangers game right now. They been playing .500 hockey and don't look that much different from the teams we saw enter post season for the past 2 years.
No powerplay to speak of, sputtering offense, defensive gaffes and breakdowns that immediately lead to pucks in the back of our net.
More than anything else, i'm finding Lundqvist's crappy play of late very troublesome. He's been more than adequately backed up by Biron this season. I can understand a bad game here and there, but he's been off for weeks now! What's the story?
Enough with the accolades and praise. If this team is going to take the next step, it has to start with Lundqvist making the transition from a great regular season goalie, to a great PLAYOFF GOALTENDER. So far in his career the latter has not yet been accomplished.
