He recounted it like three times, too.

I must be the in the minority here that think getting Pittsburgh in the first round wouldn't be a bad thing. This team has been up for the games against Pittsburgh this season. It won't be a cakewalk but it is a winable series. Now we have been awful against Florida & NY Rangers and the Bruins are a crap shoot. Do we get first half Bruins or second half Bruins? It could go either way. To me a Pittsburgh series would give us the best chance of progressing.

5th seed honestly isn't the worst, we're a better road team anyways.

Anyone notice how Doc seems to commentate more about games that were played before the game he is commentating?

It is a shame. Emrick has always been good. Recently though he has lost it. Not just with the names but with the over excitement for small things and repetition of the same phrases.

In a few years we'll be hearing him talk about his grandchildren during games

Except at this point, we're most likely to get the Rangers.

I missed this game, but from what I read we had some really bad turnovers which lead to goals from the enemy team.... this seems to be happening a lot lately, not good.

I can't say whether he maintains a grudge against the organization but at the time of his departure from the team, it was a public spat involving Ron Ryan -- then the team's point man on such matters -- and Emrick. The team wanted a dedicated broadcaster, one who would be the PxP for all games. Emrick wanted an out for conflicting broadcasts because he had commitments nationally and had other obligations including some other sports (lacrosse, IIRC). It is why Gene Hart was brought back into the fold, from radio to TV, for a brief period.

Must be the split he did trying to cover for Carle's turnover.

It sucks because Carle seems like such a good dude. He makes so many stupid stupid plays and has the worst point shot I've ever seen. I wish he was a jerk
