Did you catch a replay of the injury? pretty heinous stuff. Was showing it to my partner earlier and I think she was nearly sick when I was like "look, look you can see the bone sticking out!!" lol.
Definitely sad news though, hope he can come back next season OK because he was building a pretty nice career.
Gotta feel bad for Jahmal Yow Yeh who had a horrible ankle injury on Friday night - and I didn't even get to watch the game
His name is Jharal
I'm finding myself watching NRL and Super League over Super Rugby/Heineken Cup competition. I still love international union tests, especially during the Tri-Nations, but don't follow club comps as closely as I once did. I blame school mostly, and my stupid friends for the their general disinterest in anything outside gridiron and hockey.
Blame it on League being more entertaining than Union
Week in week out NRL crushes Super Rugby in terms of entertainment value imo. But I care much more about ITM Cup than Super Rugby so maybe that is a factor.
I don't think my hatred of the Melbourne Storm and their smug fans could get even worse......
After attending the Cowboys v Storm game last night I cannot see anyone beating Melbourne at all this year and as far as I am concerned, they can all go and **** themselves.
If it turns into a Brisbane v Melbourne NRL Grand Final this year, I will not even watch it - two teams and with highly smug fanbases who both piss me off.
I've given up on hating Melbourne they're just too good to watch. I don't have to deal with the fans though so maybe that makes it easier. But I can't keep hating them, I just enjoy watching them play the game at such a class level.
Slater used to be amongst my most hated players, but he's just such a joy to watch with some of the freakish things he pulls off.
I guess you'll have to start getting behind my Warriors though since we are Melbourne's bogey team even if we do look terrible.
Brisbane Fans are just as bad (and smug) as Melbourne fans are and I have had no respect for them since maybe 2006 when Melbourne Players intentionally injure any opposition player who can pose a threat to fellow Storm Players rep jerseys and it has happened at least twice against the Cowboys - Ty Williams and Jonathon Thurston.
Oh and the year before last, that was Karma coming at the Storm.
Opposition fans I have no problems with and can have a good old chat with are Dragons, Sharks, Bulldogs, Roosters and Titans fans. Manly on the other hand is the team that I was raised never to cheer for (even against the NZ) Warriors but I have no problem with their fans.
What a bounce back from the Cowboys. Got smacked by those cheating Mexicans last week to inflict some justice against the Roosters Yeah Buddy!!!!!!!!!!!
I think following both the Cowboys and the Penguins goes hand in hand at the moment.
Well we were missing the Stewart Brothers, Kieran Foran and Tony Williams, but that might have honestly been the worst i've seen this group of players play. Can't believe with the games this team has dropped that they are still in the 8. I think they'll stay in the 8, but I feel like it's going to be a long injury plagued season.
Cowboys.......You fellas were lucky to get that Win against the Penrith Panthers tonight and that's without Jonno.
At the moment I just want to give Tariq Sims a big hug. Even worse is that he got called up for 18th man duties for NSW Origin on the way to the game earlier and would have been on a flight out of Townsville in the morning. Not going to happen now. Worse than that, he had the same leg injury towards the end of last season and has been back playing for a few weeks
The Dragons really have nothing to offer on attack at all, even with Cooper, Soward, Morris, Nightingale. They are probably the least dangerous looking team on attack in the comp.
Gallen dished out some hilarious comments towards the refs during the game.
To my eyes (I'll admit I'm an NSW supporter):
1) The sin binning was harsh. It looked like standard origin biff, but if you're gonna bin an NSW player for the stoush, he should have also binned a QLD guy.
2) There is no way on Earth that was a try.
3) The worst decision not made by a referee this game was made by Paul Gallen. 40 metres out they get a penalty while 2 down and seeming to have momentum behind them. Instead of kicking for touch and getting a set of 6 inside 20m, he goes for goal. Not only is that a sign of lack of confidence in your attack, it's exacerbated by the fact your kicker is Todd Carney who is not the best goalkicker around. After Gallen made that decision they cut to the coach's box and you could see sticky facepalming.
4) I thought Gallen was gonna punch the ref in the mouth while he was trying to explain the Inglis try.
