Cox is pissing in the wind and I predict he will require a change of clothes. Any center we draft wouldn't be ready for first line duties for a couple years, in my opinion. Nugent-Hopkins isn't yet up the task and neither was Tavares at first (particularly defensively). There are no Nuges or JT's in this draft.
This draft won't quickly solve our problems at center and I would expect Burke to take the best players available regardless of position.

RNH shouldn't be in the NHL. the guy looks so soft out there. explains why he's had injury troubles.
BREAKING NEW: this just in; i am hearing that the leafs will select a hockey player with their 1st round pick, i am also hearing that this player's name contains letters in it

Dont mean to brag but I totally called this in my mock drafts.
The most obvious thing for the Leafs to do is to throw their early picks at the best centers available.
The thing that needs to happen, is that they need to make sure that they secure that top pick. Not sure how you do that with a group of professional athletes that have pride and ego, but it needs to be done.
If this team wins out the final 6 games, and picks up more meaningless points and ends up moving up to 8th or 9th or 10th, then I'm not entirely convinced those names will drop that low.
meh, Leafs will likely end up ruining another draft pick with an end of season push. It's been done over and over and I just don't feel like getting my hopes up again.
It's flat out hilarious how Cox drives kool aid drinkers off the deep end.
Someone starts a thread about one of Cox's articles, and the kool aid drinkers start vomiting forth mantras about how worthless his opinion is and how they stopped reading when they saw his name.
Funny thing is, those threads usually go for dozens of pages and accumulate tens of thousands of views.

that's how the world works unfortunately. "journalists", more like tabloid writers, will write whatever they can to grab attention to their articles (eg. kessel should be traded..). that's what is eaten up. it doesn't make these journalists any better at what they do, they value quantity (readers) over quality.
i fail to see how it makes him any more credible b/c his articles create a ton of feedback.

i think his first three guys are yakopov/grigs/galy/forsberg in that order, once there gone BPA murray, dumba and then the faksa and gaunces
lol, no it wont. if thats what is going to happen you think Burke would waste his time going to see players play in the minors leagues (quebec game to see grigs, sarnia, kitchener)

Who knows. Columbus has not had a good experience drafting Russians. Perhaps the Leafs trade something like Schenn and Frattin our first for Nash and Columbus's first.
Something like that anyway. KIM Nash has an NMC will say where he goes and he has a contract a lot of teams cannot handle.
(I guess I'm saying that trade is not value for value from Colombus's point of view)

Wonder if Leafs' fans are seeing what they want in this draft?
From everything I'm reading, Yakupov, Grigorenko, Murray, Dumba and then a whole bunch of players, Rielly, Reinhart, Galchenyuk, Forsberg, ... are in a heap probably selected by need since BPA is so subjective.
So need may determine who is left for the Leafs to select from 5 to 10 and it could be anyone from 5 to 10.

He's a scout's dream in the way he prepares himself and plays an unselfish game, making smart decisions with the puck. With his bloodlines, he certainly understands what it will take to make it at the next level.

I'd go with this order when drafting.
Yakupov - Obviously
Grigorenko/Galchenyuk - Not really sure who but I'd take either.
Forsberg - The more I see the more I like. I really like his puck protection skills. And apparently he can play center too.
Morgan Reilly/Ryan Murray/Matt Dumba - If the first four forwards are gone, I'll take one of these guys. Go with BPA. No sense giving up a potential top pairing guy because we need a center and grabbing a guy with less upside because of it.
Faksa/Ceci/Gaunce/Reinhart/Trouba - Can't really decide who but one of these guys.
Teravainen - Real talented even though he's small. I'll take small and talented over hard working with little upside though.
And personally, I'd rather have Samuelsson/Frk over Wilson. Wilson just seems to be getting way to much hype because of his toughness.
