Hamilton might be a good suitor for our 4th line next season. Looked strong. Didnt do much with the puck but played a strong forecheck and a physical game, something most of our forwards lack. And hes not overpaid. Looks like he really worked on his skating, I remember for the last 2 training camps he looked super slow and sluggish. Now he looks alot better
Kessel on the bench during a shootout is interesting, but not so much due to Kadri being included, but Bozak. (???)
Kessel has not been great recently in the shootout. He's something like 1/8 in his last 9 attempts. No harm in letting other guys go. Im surprised Connolly isnt more of a staple in the shootout with his hands.
They are taking the time to develop the player properly, they feel he isn't ready so they are sacrificing current results for the long term development of a top prospect.
The Leafs weren't winning it all this year with or without Kadri in the line-up, so no sense in rushing his development.
Don't waste your time. This is the same person who speaks to the value of Kenny Holland and the Wings management team, and complains how Burke was a poor choice and how the Leafs should emulate Detroits success. Yet when Burke and Leaf management take the time to develop prospects, the complaining starts. Double standards and making excuses to complain.
Nazem Kadri will be a full time player on the Leafs next season. No doubt about it.
He should be, he looks ready. IMO he's good enough to contribute in a top 6 (or top 9) role in the NHL right now, and at this point I think NHL time will be better for his development than further AHL time.
