According to Russo the 10 game rule applies to chl prospects. Also Zucker will play provided he passes his physical, he has told the wild he's healthy.

Thanks that's right....only looked at the NHL roster and didn't think about who'd been sent down.

Agreed. If he's going to use the German vowel pronunciation, he should go all the way and say "tsoo-ker." Otherwise just use the anglicized "zuh-ker."

Zucker wasn't drafted out of the CHL so that agreement doesn't affect him.

Yep. Should also be interesting to see what Bulmer does if he comes back up when Kelowna's season ends.

Wasn't expecting him to do this but I suppose with Denver not playing hockey anymore this season it makes sense.

Russo's wrong about the rule (it's not CHL exclusive, nor does it have anything to do with the CHL) but I'm fairly certain it does burn an ELC year, let me look up why.

Can't remember the exact rule but if college players sign a professional contract before the end of the NHL season it counts for that season. Also the reason why most college guys sign ATOs at the end of the year.

Not sure about his number situation in Denver, but I know he's worn #16 for Team USA.

The bad thing about that is that he`ll probably switch to 17 if it get av. ?
16 is also cooler in my opinion..

Brett Hull is the man.

The 2nd greatest one.

Yeah, how dare he want to tell us how to pronounce his name!

On topic, though, I'm super excited to see him play. I wouldn't expect anything crazy out of this little stint, but it'll give him a taste, and it'll give us the same. Keep in mind, he IS just a kid. Don't expect goals galore here. I'd be surprised if he makes a big enough impact to turn our losing ways around, right off the bat.

Surprised he's playing so soon. Against Ferris State, he was so hurt he was unable to shoot. There was one instance where a cross-ice pass hit him in a perfect spot and he had to pass it rather than pot it. Sad to see him go, but we all saw it coming. We lost Drew Shore to Florida today too.

Really? I had assumed the 2 of them were going to stick around to play with the 3rd one incoming next year.

Maybe he'll just take a shift to get on the ice and make it official, with the wild playing one forward shot the rest of the game, and then shut it down for the year?

I dunno but that's how I'd do it if I had an injured player signing with a team whos season is in the toilet and I just wanted to burn a year of his ELC.

Also does this mean TP is going to change his avatar? I could make one once I get an image of Zucker in a Wild sweater

Nick will probably be around (can't see LA signing him) but Drew's NHL ready.

So does this mean we still have one contract slot left to sign a free agent defenseman if we manage to snag one?

Jumping in here to say, as an attendee of DU myself, how excited I am to see that Zucker signed. DU's going to miss him (and Shore) next year, but he'll absolutely succeed in Minnesota. Not that I have to say this since I'm sure you all know, but it deserves reiterating that this guy is incredible. Great vision, character, point totals, everything. I'm not at all surprised to see him called up this soon; for lack of a better word, he outgrew DU, fast.

I can't say I've watched many Wild games in the past, but I definitely will going forward!

Also, WRT him being injured, that is the one area I was a bit perplexed with, since he was really banged up (said so himself in the post-game against Ferris St.), but I guess he's bounced back since or it wasn't as serious as it looked.

Yeah, I thought they'd make it a "sentimental-type thing". Not sure why I assumed that.

Looked at the "sliding" rule. It applies to contracts signed by 18 or 19 year olds, but the age is calculated "on September 16 of the year he signed the contract." Since Zucker signed the contract in 2012, and will be 20 on 9/16/12, the contract cannot slide.
