Good solid win... Could have used it two months ago.

Best part - now we're finally getting second wave scoring.

Worst part - it's happening in meaningless games.

Don't look now, but another 3 wins in the last 6 games and we're picking at no better than 7th.

OK, so I figured it out:

Buffalo goes 0-4-1 (finishes with 87 points)
Washington goes 1-4-0 (finishes with 86 points)

NYI go 6-0-0 (finish with 87 points, tied in ROWs, but have more points than Buffalo in games played between us)

Someone find Dubie and rub his head.

All miracles aside, I do give them credit for staving off elimination while at the brink when they easily could simply have given up at this point. No credit for being in this position, but it shouldn't have been unexpected.

Mitch

PS (Watch the above happen, but one of the teams 2-3 points ahead of us keeps pace...then we can just arrange the mass suicide at the Coliseum.)

It felt like the Pens were taking runs at our goalies. Since Ulstrom will be out they need to bring back Haley and let him loose on Cooke next game.

Definitely.

I have a strong feeling the game on Thrs will get extremely chippy and dirty.

As for another topic floating in this thread (the line of KO-Bailey-Frans).... that line is excellent. But here's the thing. In order to ice a competitive set of forwards that can compete with other elite teams on a regular basis, that line needs to be our 3rd line.

A top line winger for JT, a move of PA down to the 2nd line, and 2 other 2nd line forwards are needed to give us what we need. Oh, and yes, I'm still waiting for hell to freeze over.

Just finished watching on dvr... Holy crap I can't stand listening to those two annoying homer pinheads that broadcast for the Pens. I'd take a thousand Butch's over those guys. Blech.

Nice game. I like Crosby, but I hate the Pens, so always nice to beat them. Bailey, Frans and KO played a great game. Montoya stood really tall in the third. Hope Nabby is ok. Don't like seeing Stall manhandle JT with no retribution. Hopefully Martin gets to rattle him at some point on Thursday.

Just finished watching the game tonight. Josh Bailey was amazing. The pass he made to Ullstrom as he was being knocked over, then hitting Franzie for the breakaway was Tavareslike. As long as Bailey has good linemates, he's going to develop into a very good player. JT is easily the best Islander. Since Bailey has been paired with legit linemates, I think he's been the 2nd best player on the team.

I would love to see Moulson and PA swapped with Okposo and Bailey. I bet JT's numbers would be even better. JT seems to try and do it all, and I feel like Moulson and PA aren't holding up their end. I know there's chemistry between Moulson and JT, but if I was Tavares, I would be frustrated, battling like crazy while my linemates wait to see if I can get them the puck.

As far as the game goes, Nabby stole it, Fluery handed it to the Islanders. Thursday should be interesting. I suspect the Pens are going to come out hitting. They spent tonight's game running our goalies and giving Tavares a beating. The Islanders defensemen seemed to be ducking the big Penguin wingers all night and I'm sure it took a physical toll. I hope the Islanders draft a big, nasty defensemen this year. I don't care if they get a shot at Nail. They need to draft the BBPE (biggest, best player available), and he needs to be a defensemen.

Just noticed the Islanders have the same amount of points as the Leafs with a game at hand. That puts the Isles ahead of them in the standings.

Does anyone remember all of the Toronto media and many of the leafs fans saying before Tavares signed his extension, that he should sign with the Leafs, since the Isles are embarrassing?

Who's embarrassing now?

If a miracle were to happen and the Isles make the playoffs, then someone needs to make

"Islanders in the playoffs"

*JT Deal with it Picture*

The Penguins broadcast was beyond ridiculous last night. My favorite was near the end when one of them said the Penguins made just enough mistakes to give the Isles a two goal advantage.

I'm praying the NY feed is available tomorrow night. I realize we have our own broadcast albatross (Butch) but come on really...
