Henry has earned a taste of Montreal

I agree, and Henry should have been on this team ...not Picard etc...
call him up now, and i'd like to see him given a REAL CHANCE as 7/8 next year.
He was black listed in MTL in the SMurf era...This team is now about being tougher, get Henry on d please.

He's a million years old. At best he can become some kind of defensive Darche and we don't need that.

All he'd be good at would be helping the tank. I'd rather have that icetime given to guys with an actual future with the team. StDenis is better by far and younger, he should be the no7-8 next year and get considerable ice time. With Bealieu, Tinordi and Ellis coming to Hamilton there is going to be no ice time left whatsoever for Henry.

31 Henry

yup Eric Cole should retire too.

Henry got shafted in training camp a few times, he really beat out Picard, but we had marshmallow land going on here.

Cole scored 30 goals on an offensively challenged NHL team and Henry played in the AHL for years. Its not fair to compare them.

Henry has been an AHLer 95% of his career, what makes you think all of a sudden he's become an NHLer? At best he could be a decent no6 and thats pretty irrelevant to the big picture. As I said, at best he's the Darche of defensemen.

Want to build a contender? Call up Alex ****ing Henry to the Big Club. How come nobody thought of it before you?

Really, I'm shocked Molson didn't offer you the GM job yet. I'll make sure to send him a couple of tweets talking about your potential.

We're tanking...or supposed to.

What is wrong with seeing Henry play in 2-3 games?

Maybe Henry deserves 2-3 games...

Useless Picard played an entire season with us , and people are swearing at Henry.

We're all hoping to select at #2 or #3 overall...imo it wouldn't hurt to give Henry some games...then again Molson may want to save money (no playoffs).

Where did I mention Molson's job except in the possibility of hiring the brilliant individual that Habaneros is?

There's no way Henry plays another game with the Habs in his career. He's below average and only valued by some here because he can fight. Why would you play that guy over StDenis or Markov? Why would you sit Cole? I understand tanking and getting the best draft pick possible but sitting these guys on the sole purpose of losing will alienate them. Nobody likes to lose a hockey game, even more when you're a professional hockey player and that hockey is your life.

If Henry didn't fight, no one would ever mention his name.

Pretty much and with White and Staubitz to do that now the team does not need to use up another roster spot for it.

I don't see an issue with it. It would be like a small reward for Henry and at the same time toughen up the softest D in the NHL. The Habs are done this year so its no big deal. Maybe the other night it wouldn't have been Gorges getting beat up by Kubina, it may have been Henry beating up Kubina.

Guys like henry are a dime a dozen. A paul mara type is easily obtainable and is better then henry. Might as well give the ice time to youth

I have no problem giving him a 2-3 game look. We're trying for a high pick and have nothing to lose by doing it. That being said I don't see him on the team next year. I think we need to add a physical d-man but it should be one that can play #3-4 minutes and PK like Allen, Jackman, Grossman etc

Both are garbage.

I'd rather have St-Denis, let him get some ice time he's looked solid this year and might have a future with the team as a bottom pairing D.

I'd give him a look. I've wondered why we haven't given him more opportunity. He's impressed in nearly every every assignment the team has given him and been a model citizen.... unlike many who have found acting out a good way to get an opportunity with another team (see Ribs, Grabovsky, Cammy, etc...).

Our org has a strange culture. Henry should get a shot to show the other guys that if you play hard and do the right things you will earn a shot.

Aside but this regime can't change soon enough.

Henry used to captain the Minnesota Wild.
Speaking of which Josh Gorges may have also been a captain sometime in his junior career.

The move wouldn't be about winning or losing, it would be about giving a guy his dues.
Henry has been a solid guy for Hamilton throughout the years.
Like it or not, he's had an influence on Subban, Diaz and Weber.

Giving the guy an NHL salary for 5 games instead of an AHL salary would be a huge difference maker for him.

People always talk about class......this would be it.

This team aint no soft no mo... also henry is slow as ****. the team realized after having hammer, spacek, sopel and gill all on the same d corps that speed does matter on the backend.

The defense does need more size, but not at the expense of an AHL level defenseman with no foot speed
