CAJANEK - A+. Looking outstanding in just his second season.
TKACHUK - A. Would get an A+ if he could keep his stick down.
DANTON - A. More than filling Tyson Nash's role as a pest.
WEIGHT - A-. 7 of his 11 points are on the PP. Needs more production at even strength.
DEMITRA - A-. After a slow start, looking much better.
DRAKE - B. 5 assists in one game is an abberation but doing well so far.
RYCROFT - B-. Looked out of place on the 1st line, has looked more comfortable on the 3rd line.
NICKLAUS - C+. 2 goals in recent games, plus has been steady on the 3rd line. At +7 leads the Blues.
JOHNSON - C. Going about his role quietly, has been steady.
MAYERS - C. The speed is there, but only 1 point in 16 games to go with a -3. Needs to start producing.
HEEREMA - D+. After looking like he wanted to play on the 2nd line early, has drifted (badly) as of late. Being scratched for 4 games was a sign.
SEJNA - D. Maybe we should have sent him to Worcester. 2-2-4 in 16 games a disappointment, -8 is alarming and is being relegated to having Reed Low as a linemate.
LOW - D. Not really being the enforcer the Blues need consistently, and looks horrible trying to skate or handle the puck.
INCOMPLETE - Mellanby (looks OK when he's not hurt), Martins (in 3 games was very agressive and tallied a SHG), Pohl (1 game is not enough to warrant any kind of a grade)
PRONGER - A+. 'Nuff said.
BARON - B. Quietly going about his job, which is what we want him to do.
BACKMAN - B. Has looked good so far after concerns about his ability to adjust to the NHL game in training camp.
FINLEY - B. Very steady as the team's #5/6 defenseman.
SALVADOR - B-. After sitting out the first month has stepped in where the Blues needed him. Still looking for first point.
JACKMAN - C. Not quite up to last year's play, a shoulder injury hurt as well.
KHAVANOV - C-. Only 2 assists so far, and still prone to looking out of place defensively.
INCOMPLETE - MacInnis (now we know why he looked unsteady in the first 3 games), LaFlamme (hurt in the season opener), Stuart (called up when most of the defense was hurt), Brimanis (looked steady like Finley in his 7 games with the big club).
Johnson will get at least 1more game november,3 in december, 4 in january, 3 in february, 4 in march, 1 in april. So thats 16 more back to back nights. So he will more than likely finnish with 21 games total considering he has already played 5. You could probably add a few more because im sure osgood will be rested periodically, or have another hip flexor.
But that leaves us with:
Osgood - 61 games
Johnson - 21 games
Does that sound more reasonable? More than likely osgood will play in the mid 50's.
