If Brown comes right in like Read did, I could definitely see him possibly taking Jagr's place on the RW (or someone in the top 9). Centers are a different story though...

Would like to see him play first. Reason I was on the Read bandwagon before he even the camps is I saw him completely dominate as a Phantom single handedly winning them a few games. I would like to see Brown do that first before we start plugging him into the lineup.

I don't follow the NCAA season and don't know too much about their rules, but I just want to know is JT Brown available to sign right now with a professional team?

Yes, once his season was over he was free to sign with anyone that is offering him a contract.

Curious, since DeKeyser is going back to college, does that make Schultz a much more desired commodity?

No because everyone knows he signing in Toronto or Vancouver

If Schultz gets to free agency he is gonna be in high demand no matter who else is out there to be honest.

I would really be happy with Jack Connolly. That guy is a competitor and a leader.

Justin Schultz is the Yu Darvish of free agents this summer.

Right ... so hard to see how the Flyers can convince a forward that he's not going to get buried on a 4th line when the 6th overall pick has been buried on the 4th line all season.

8th. And he hasn't been buried there. They are using him in the role that's best for the team right now (and arguably best for him, too).

8th overall . But ya you gotta look at other reasons also, not just chances to play. Remember when Da Costa went to the Sens because he thought he had a sure thing to play there? Casey Wellman went to the Wild because he thought the same thing. I think some, if not most, also look at other factors like how the organization treats it's players, the chance to get called up or make the big team, or even the chance to play with players like Giroux.

You also have players like Read who was undrafted and is now a regular, as well as players like Gustafsson, Holmstrom, Manning and Harry Z who were all undrafted but get chances to play.

The Flyers, in due time, will need to replace some of it's defenders. Carle might not come back, Timonen is up there in age and will retire soon, and we got two UFA's on the team (and an injured older player). I think if I was a young defender, and I was getting offers, a club like the Flyers would be a choice I would think about. Players retiring, 3 UFA's, injured Allstar as well as an organziation that does a pretty nice job treating it's prospects well. Im hoping a guy like Schultz see's that.

Fair enough ... but people were questioning how Tampa could be a contender. They have some skilled forwards to play with, and not as much depth, so I could see the temptation for some of these guys to take a chance.

True and true but do you see them contending yearly like the flyers and some other teams. That has to play a big part in the final decision

I think it's the opposite. You can convince them by showing that Read and Couturier got a chance to play without any pro-experience. What Holmgren always said, "if you are good enough to play, we will find a place for you."

Regarding Couturier, I think he got the best possible situation to develop this season, he played in the best league, he got defensive responsibility but he wasn't relied on completely.

Justin Schultz has all the tools to be a top 4 dman if he becomes a free agent homer should should make every effort to sign him our defense is the perfect fit for this guy with our top dman getting old some going to retire and some wont be resigned. T J brown should come here also i like him alot and there is a few other dman in the NCAA who could be signed also.

Tj should come here but being he hasn't excepted our offer means he is torn and that we're not as high on his list as sum people think. Should be a easy choice

But he can't come to an decision without the offers ... and if he's as highly demanded as the media makes it sound, it's a tough decision.
