And, of course, Zombies are the perfect metaphor for our beloved CBJ as they shamble down the stretch. Way to prove you have a sense of humor and irony, Steve Mason.
Don't forget: you get to stay at the R Bar for an extra half hour before the game tonight. Drink that time wisely! At the arena, it's too expensive to get so loaded you don't remember the hockey game.
I guess NBC figures they've shown the Rangers too much lately. That's the only possible explanation I can think of as to why they are still keeping this game as the national broadcast.
I hope the team is still feeling the major butt whooping that Detroit dished out Monday night, and the CBJ play like the whole country is watching.
Won't be watching this one as I cancelled my cable last summer and got GameCenter instead. With it being a national game, there's no way to get around the blackout.
Oh well, I'll follow the score (and comments here) and watch the Jets game instead.

Irrespective of the outcome, I'd prefer to keep an arena half-filled with visiting fans off national TV. It's not representative of the local fanbase, but it will become so to those who don't pay attention.

Roenick and the other guys on NBCSN gave the CBJ a very rough time when they reviewed Monday's game. While watching replays, they hummed the music that circuses play when the animals perform. So with this being the showcase game tonight, they will hold nothing back if the Jackets give an equally poor performance.
This one won't be as ugly as the other night, but the Jackets still lose 5-2. Jackets start out strong on the forecheck, maybe even pot an early goal, but they lose all momentum when one of two things happen: (a) Mase let's in a soft goal from a terrible angle on the near post or (b) Red Wings score about 10 seconds into their first power play.
The blueline we are putting out on the ice tonight is bad, really, really bad.
Can't wait to be outnumbered in my section by Wing fans, although I think they're less obnoxious than most of the fanbases that invade Nationwide (Hawks, Sabres, Pens).
Steve Mason will stand on his head and make 40+ saves ... and Jimmy Howard will make 11 saves for a shutout, as the Red Wings win 2-0 (empty net goal).
To further compound our suffering, there will be a major delay at some point in the game (in front of the national crowd, you know) ... be it power outage, man threatening to jump from upper level (likely a Jackets fan), etc ...
The bad part is there will be no alternative game to watch since this is not on FSO. Bet this game is over the first ten minutes. Well there's always reruns of Wagon Train and Rawhide to watch.
Just realized the best reason to tune in to tonight's games on NBC...........it's not being carried on FSO............NO RIMER!!! NO BILLY-BOY!!!! YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
If it meant the end of the Howson era, I would root for Detroit to score 10 goals tonight. But since it obviously doesnt matter, I will root for a win by the Union Blue.
I love how Mason's initial reaction to every poor game he plays is to blame it on the pads and/or his teammates. Yeah man, it's the PAD'S fault that you slid waaaay out of goal and gave an easy tap in on the penalty kill. Better get some new ones!!!!
Actually, he'd probably be the best customer to have as a sales rep. Just call him up after every poor game and ask if he wants new pads.
“@smitchcd: Hunwick has been signed to amateur tryout agreement. He will back up Allen York tonight. #CBJ”
Sounds like a one game signing so that there is warm body on the bench.
I'm hurt they didn't call me first. I'm local and I have 2 months experience in the E and D leagues. Pretty sure I could let in just as many as Mason...
