Maki?

Seriously, great game for the kid. I thought Mitts played pretty well, though, too. I still don't know what Eric Fehr is supposed to be bringing to the team. Localism?

I kept waiting for Machacek to crack the third line of the Thrashers for the past two seasons. Maybe he's up for good this time.

I want to see him play with Kane and Burmi one period

Kane-Burmi-Machacek
Glass-Slater-Maxwell
Miettinen-Antropov-Wellwood

that or keep him with the GST(M) line for the time being.

TBQH, why exactly are we watching slugs like Antro, Mitts and Fehr do nothing for the team, when we call up Maxwell and Machecek they play so much better? Lets bring up Klinger and Jaffs or whoever else and slot them in. Seems like the top St.J's forwards are much better than half of what we have in Wpg.

This is what was most impressive for me - as a two year fan of Machacek.

After the OT winner, there is great shot of the guys coming off the bench - 46 is flying over to celebrate with the team. He hasn't even played 10 games. This guy cares and belongs.

He is a gamer.

I take it that Spencer and Max are up on emergency recall and will be sent back down when Antro and Thorburn return. I don't really know the rules about that. They are integral to our team ATM. They add some grit and character. I'd rather see Spencer with Burmi and Kane than Welly. And he's a right handed stick. I'd like to see both Spencer & Max get more icetime.

It's been my understanding that after the TD there are no roster size limits. If we win tonite against the Preds, how do you break up a winning lineup? Anyhow, I can't wait for tonite's game and Miracle 2. This could be the stuff of legends. Without Spencer & Max we wouldn't have beat the Caps.

I think you gotta be careful about uping their ice time. Really pleased to see these guys doing what what they do best! I have a lot of trust in them when it comes to providing offensive punch, and I agree that Kane and Burmi need to play with some one...but when Wellwood does something tonight, he'll make me wonder why I ever thought differently. Because Kyle strikes when you least expect it. That's how Kyle Wellwood does works. lol

Like a Ninja-cat.

I would love it if the Jets make some moves that enables us to ice a 3rd line that consists of guys like Machacek, Wellwood, Antro, etc. Create a usable and consistant 3rd line that can check and occasionally contribute on the scoreboard.

It'll just be a paperwork shuffle. The Jets have 4 call-ups post-deadline (not including emergency recalls) of which they have not used one, so when Antropov/Fehr/Thorburn are ready to return Maxwell/Machacek will be sent down on their emergency recall, then immediately recalled by the Winnipeg Jets on a non-emergency recall. Neither Maxwell nor Machacek would have to even leave town.

The excitement when Macho-chek scored the tying goal was so much fun to watch... I seriously thought he was going to explode.

I called him the Jets best prospect this pre-season and took a **** tonne of abuse for it.

I wasn't going to mention it again because this is HF boards and younger, newer prospects are always sexier

I've always liked Machacek. He always cracks my fourth line a couple of years in the future in the NHL games! Hopefully he gets a real chance next season. I mean, he IS on pace for 82 points and +82 over a full season!

IMO Macho sticks with the team from here on out. He is a better option then a few others, and after the rest of this season he will hit the ground running next year and will be an everyday player.

Saw Spencer yesterday on my way home from work. Wanted to get a pic with him and let him know we call him Macho Man, but he was with his gf and I really hate bugging players when they are out and about.

I hate doing that too, I just give them a knowing nod and continue on my way. Like when I saw Thorburn stick out like a sore thumb in the express checkouts at Walmart between 2 ladies who were no taller than 5 feet.
