Good luck to the panthers, hope they can finally get back to the playoffs. Once the Habs season is over, I don't watch any NHL games.
You have to find joy in the misery of others. Here's how my playoffs go without the habs:
1. Cheer against any Northeast rival
2. Cheer against Canadian teams (We were the last ones to win it, and I want us to be the next ones too)
3. Watch San Jose win the President's trophy and choke, again. (thats a favorite of mine, I don't think a team with Big Joe will ever go far)
4. Pick the team you hate the least in a matchup and cheer for them
5. At least we aren't as bad as the Leafs.

I love my habs but I love the game too.
The only team I would consider rooting for is whoever Nashville faces so our 2nd round pick can be lower.
Of course I will root against boston but I won't watch or follow any of the games, I just naturally root against them year round.
I'll cheer for Nashville in the West and maybe for Florida in the East... but I soooooo don't want them to meet in the finals. it would be a huge borefest with zero interest.
When I was a little kid I liked Panthers and Mighty Ducks because of their logos and my first hockeycard ever was actually Johan Garpenlov in Panthers.
I also have a very difficult time finding any other team to support in the East. Boston, Buffalo and Ottawa are all divisional rivals, I've always disliked Philadelphia, Washington and Rangers and for some reason it would feel wrong to support Devils.
That would leave me with Pittsburgh and Florida, so I'll cheer for them in the East.
I usually also support the underdogs (no offence).
I support organisations that have been built properly. I do like Tallon and appreciate what Florida's done, but it's not their time to be a good club yet (which is why they're not a good team, frankly).
In this playoffs, I'd like to see the following do well: NSH, STL, DET, CHI, PIT.
