He'll be easy to recognize, with this very distinctive look:

This game is on NBC? I didn't make a single comment after the last game because it was rather pathetic. I'm not picking on the CBJs, just noting that it looked like men against boys out there. They've already mailed in their season, one they'd rather forget I'm sure.

So after some scoring in the first, it was kinda boring as hockey goes. Feel bad for the people who paid NHL ticket prices to sit through it at the arena.

I'm not a college hockey follower (hard to catch stuff down here in the Dirty South), so I'd not really heard much about Hunwick...

... I've gotta say, that article made something get into my eye.

You know, Conklin is capable of letting in 3-4 goals, so the Wings have to be sharp.

Too bad Howard can't get back, he needs to get some games.

A little frustrated that Mule is sliding right back into Pav's wing. Didn't Babs notice how he played when he was in the doghouse? Hopefully Gus finishes with more than 5 minutes of IT, but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he didn't.

Anyone who follows Michigan hockey knows Shawn Hunwick is an amazing goalie, regardless of his size. He is a Hobey Baker Award finalist. I'm not saying he could for sure hang at the NHL level but I think the BJ's would have a better chance with him in net versus York. Nonetheless, I'm glad to see him get the opportunity.

P.S. He is also the younger brother of Matt Hunwick from the Colorado Avalanche.

Probably to allow CBJ to win... Since Wings seem to never win during a National Coveraged game... gotta give them some hope and spotlight...

Should be interesting tonight, feel as though the Wings will have to use both this and their remaining games to sharpen and prepare themselves for the playoffs. Advantage Wings on most accounts, but they'll still have to show up. Good to see Ericsson back after injury... Can't believe I missed the guy during his time out. Hopefully our PP shows up and Gustav continues to impress despite his limited IT he should see on the fourth line.

Good to see Gus is playing instead of Mursak. If it's between them it has to be Gus. He is still going to be a threat on that 4th line. 5 game point streak anyone? I think so. Hopefully he gets some 2nd unit time as well.

Go Wangs

I'll take Marty Turco but he's been very good. Granted, maybe he wins a national title with some of the guys that played in front of Turco. They almost got one last year.

Good for him, then.

Hope he gets a shot tonight.

It would be bittersweet. On one hand, you debut in the first game you are ever dressed for against your hometown team, which just shelled your current team two days earlier and you have a chance to show your stuff.

On the other hand, you debut in the first game you ever dress for against one of the best teams int he NHL, that probably has somewhere around 5 or 6 goals if your coach is putting you in.

I would love to see him get a real chance in the NHL. Don't know if I want that to come against the Wings.

I don't think they're all that bad. McGuire seems very devoted to his job and he obviously loves hockey passionately and Doc's somewhat iconic to me. My only problem is Olczyk, I hate him.

EDIT: I'd still take Ken, Mickey and Murph over them any day.
