That must be something like a hat trick for some swedish player, any one of them. Doesn't matter really.

But yeah, even the fans from the opposing team are saying that he's too good for FEL. There must be some truth in it then. It is just that one of his "bad games" is usually pretty darn good for anyone playing in the FEL. And yes, that includes Mikael Granlund - our golden god. There's no doubt that he's the best player in the Finnish league, except that I'm drunk. But shouldn't matter anyways. And speaking of which, I'll take another beer, cheers.

True... But Vatanen was even better than Conan, or Chuck Norris. And now I've got a huge hangover.

**** this, Vatanen just got high sticked in the eye (or at least close to it), blood on the ice. The player who high sticked him got 5+20!

Hopefully it's not bad, eye injuries are not funny at all.

Edit. Phew, he's back on the ice. Apparently it hit the corner of the eye and just stitches were needed.

Edit. 2 And now his leg is injured by a hit! ****

Looks like he re-injured his knee... Ässät players were trying to injure him all game long, can't handle losing?

Edit. 3 Well, after seeing the replay of the situation where Sami got injured, it looked like an accident. But still, there was some borderline stuff and Ässät didn't show much respect and were careless/reckless today. Hopefully Sami is alright.

Hopefully nothing major and hoping it's just precaution... did the leg injury look bad? It would suck if he missed HWC again...I wanna see him performing in higher level.

Apparently he had ice bags around his ankle after the game, so hopefully it's not another knee injury. He also said to some reporter that it wasn't anything serious. But it's the playoffs so who knows...

According to reports his injury has nothing to do with his knee, he sprained his ankle and will be out for "weeks", how ever long that means. You'd think and ankle sprain heals in a few weeks, no?

Weeks out. Not cool.

Most likely he will be cut out from the World Champs National Team again due to injury... or will the coach wait for him?

I feel bad for the kid.

He got injured after a hit?

that is bad. In NA he would get even harder hits than in SM-Liiga.

I haven't seen it but it sound like it was collision where the opponent didn't even try to hit him. Just bad luck more...

His ankle was twisted in corner-play. There is lot of swelling in ankle so they can't MRI it until Monday. Then we know if there is happened any damage to ligaments.. of course if there is damage he has to go to the surgery. Now he is still listed as "week to week."

Getting injured in SM-liiga doesn't mean he will get destroyed in NA. He twisted his ankle, it has nothing to do with how hard the hit was. He can take a hit as well as the next guy even though he's small.

Sprained ankle will heal within a month. Unfortunate that he'll have to pass the playoffs and even sadder if he's going to miss the World Cup.

Get well soon, Mighty 44.

I asked if he got injured with hit or not.

then i made the statement about if he did got injured because of a hit. Anyway the game in NHL is more intense so it remains an issue anyway (with NA). But i hope he will find the way to be great! There are plenty of examples in the NHL right now. He just have to adjust.
