I don't think other teams are upset they missed out on guys like Miele or Shinimin, but these moves are the ancillary types successful teams make. They have the potential to amount to something big in exchange for no assets other than cash.
After spending the next few days with his parents in the Toronto area, Arnold, 21, will fly to Phoenix on Sunday and then report to the team on Monday morning. He is expected to practice with the Coyotes for the first time on Tuesday. He will wear sweater No. 38.
Scatchard's old number. Interesting that they expect him to contribute despite some very modest numbers. Can't be any worse than giving Biz time.
Contribute by playing in the NHL? Im not sure about that.. Miele did the same thing towards the end of last season didnt he? He didnt figure in a game and he was coming off a stunning college year.
Probably more just for both sides to get a look at each other and prepare his off-season plans..
Phillip Lane with a 3 goal game today. Was named 1st star as well. Wonder if this is a one off or if he's actually finally showing enough offense to justify a entry level contract.
Lessio with a three point game tonight. Visentin was lit up in that game though.
I've been watching Connor Murphy tonight. He is huge. It looks like he's grown taller this year as he is literally towering over the Saginaw forwards. Saginaw commentators have been raving about Murphy's play this series.
True, I guess it really doesn't matter where you play as long as you get to play.
The guy that has piqued my interest is Mark Zengerle. I was hoping we would go after him, but with the Arnold and Shinnimin signings its probably not gonna happen. The guy has silky smooth mits from what i've seen of him this year, which is like 2 games but they were good games haha, and he's not terribly undersized.

Gormely with another 2 goals and an assist tonight. +2 as well. Named 1st star of the game.
Nick Ross with a 3 point night tonight. I think he's re-entered the equation as a prospect. Not a top 10 guy but I think he's going to garner another contract. More D depth....
Thanks to winning the division, we are looking at drafting in the 22-26 range, depending on the last two rounds of the playoffs. What are the names you guys are excited around there?

Hertl, Aberg, Girgensons, Gaunce, or trade the pick?
Is Hertl slow? Didn't notice any kind of speed issues during World Juniors (ala MacLean)
I keep reading that he is average to below average, but has good possession skills.
Quote:
Tomas Hertl, C, 2012 eligible: Hertl has had a pretty impressive season in the Czech Republic's top men's league, with 15 points in 23 games as an 18-year-old. Hertl is good with the puck and exhibits plus hockey sense in regards to his playmaking. He can make plays in open ice and is decent using his body to make plays off the cycle. The major issue with Hertl is skating, and it keeps him from being a true high-end weapon.
I watched a few videos of him and he has this awkward baby deer-esque wide stance. I don't know if he has simply never received instruction, but it's not conducive to speed. I'd take him over Aberg, though, who is supposedly soft.
I mean, here's a video of Aberg getting hit by none other than Freddy Meyer
Anyone know who was responsible for drafting Hanzal? I'd say that worked out well.
