They're not booing, ladies and gentlemen.

I still don't expect him to start the season in Columbus. I doubt he is ready.

Ah, I see we've found Bart Simpson's kindergarten teacher.

Class: [singing] There was a farmer, had a dog, and Bingo was his name-O!
Bart: B-I-(clap)-(clap)-O! B-I-(clap)-(clap)-O! B-I-(clap)-(clap)-(clap)! And Bingo was his name-O!
Teacher: [observing with clipboard] Added extra clap; not college material.

While its easy to be cynical of all things Blue Jackets, this kid was a projected first rounder who somehow fell through to the 2nd. His stats and attitude seem to be pretty good. I'm hoping he develops into a really good 2 way center on the third line.

No, don't you see? He's 18 and not a first-line NHLer right now, so he never will be. Might as well trade him while he still has value, because obviously he'll never play anywhere above Tier 2 in Sweden.

Jenner needs to work on his skating to be a 2nd liner, but he has the work ethic to do it.

He's incredibly competitive. His OHL team is an 8th seed getting crushed and he took his game up to another level, scored a hat trick and kept them alive. The Jackets need more players like him.

Now the Jackets development staff need to get this kid to live up to his potential.

Edit: Tonight, Jenner had a goal and 2 assists in Oshawa's 5-3 win over #1 seed Niagara (which is stacked with big name prospects like Dougie and Freddie Hamilton, goalie Mark Visentin and Ryan Strome). The series is now tied 2-2.

Do you honestly think that this kind of informed, balanced analysis and supporting information has any place here?

I think he needs another year of juniors and a year of the AHL. He could be our next Dmac with more offense.

Having a guy with Jenner's attitude, and competitiveness on our third line is bad, how? I am in no way, shape, or form happy with our bottom six now other than Dorse, Letestu, and DMac.

If he can crash, bang, hit and score 10-20 goals a season on our third line, then I am all in.

Develop him properly, and when he is ready for the NHL, turn him loose.

As per usual. Don't care what people's opinions are on whether they think he is ready. He'll come to camp and compete. That's all I need to see or here. It's not even a discussion point as post of us have been lucky if we've even seen him in a small handful of games this year. Simple "Uhh, he's really, really, young" would dictate he probably needs more time, I don't see anything compelling in stating the obvious.

Even if he does well in camp and earns a spot, we will still have people saying it's a mistake and he's not ready. We're ruining him. Blah, blah, blah. Same old, same old.

Glad to see he is under his ELC. It's the second step in his pro career after being drafted. It's refreshing seeing a guy with character and work ethic to go around some obvious skill. Especially with some of the chumps we've seen in the past.

This.

He'll never be the centerpiece to our rebuild, but he should be an excellent leader and role player. I like the kid alot, had we drafted like this for many years before (you know, character, instead of skill and laziness), I don't think we're in as big of a mess right now.

The Rags offered TJ Miller and Christian Thomas in the package for Nash. Each of them has 3 points in the OHL playoffs so far wile Jenner is 2nd in scoring in the league with 8(4+4) points in 4 games against the best Conference team . Always liked those guys who perform better in the postseason.
Jenner is obviously progressing and that's all what matters so far. Looks like a decent pick.
Yakupov and Galchenyuk stats - 5 and 4 points in 4 games respectively......

Also browsing stats noticed one Jenner's teammate. Who is that:
Cole Cassels C R 6.00 165 May.4,1995 Columbus, OH

Andrew Cassels couldn't be in Columbus in 1995, right? With all the circumstances the Jackets should draft this guy in 2013.

God I can hear Rimer saying that already....
