I guess he's just tired of receiving all those calls from the media asking if he Habs has contacted him.

Savard as GM....maybe you need a refresher of the last year and half of his tenure as GM.

He lost interest and was equally a ghost as Mr. See-ya.

That said, the Habs finished better in the standings with him.

I'm not. I don't wanna another rookie NHL coach. and I'm tired of the Canadiens hiring former players as staff/management

I hope it's for a serious announcement and not some boilerplate babble - cause then I don't see the point if Roy doing this today I would consider this a lack of judgement from him. Everybody knows he's been rumored for a job with the habs, there's no point in talking again about it unless you really have something to say.

Savard is not the GM... he is merely heading the committee to search for a new GM.

Larry Carriere is going to handle any GM duties that might need to be done for the end of the season (callups, co-ordinating the travel schedule of the scouts to get ready for the draft, etc...) Hopefully he'll even get the OK to sign Kristo.

Serge Savard is already on record sayin he won't take the GM job....

He is already on record pumpin ROY's tires in Montreal as a Coach or GM ...that was back in Jan 2012

I'd like to hear that he's affiliated with an NHL team in QUEBEC CITY, not Montreal.

I was also thinking about this. But why make an announcement on the day Gauthier is fired? That would be unnecessarily low class.

Then I think what is important, is to leave Mr. Molson and Mr. Savard to decide who will be their candidates. If I belong to their list, one will see
